Living in a generic city with 1.6 tickle people in it must be odd. What does that equate to; a person and a midget?

This assumes all ticklepeople in the world are on the TMF. This is something I've always been hugely curious about. Are the TMF's 112,600 members 100% of the people in the world who are into tickling? 75%? 50%? 25%? 5%?

I think those stats per city/country are VERY low, personally.

I was just having some fun with numbers. I believe the numbers are higher too, but I had to base my calculations on something concrete as a starting point.

The numbers shown are almost definitely too low. For instance, I didn't take into consideration locations where there is no internet access. If everyone in the world had internet access, the number of TMF members would certainly be higher. But since some people groups are unaccounted for because of this fact, we have to use our imaginations (or our research skills if you're so inclined... I'm not) to postulate how much higher the TMF membership would be.

My takeaway... there are probably more people into tickling in my own backyard than I thought.

Yeah. I too think, that the assumption that every ticklephile can be found here is a very bold one.

Many people of the 7.2 billion don't speak English and thus can't use the TMF.
Of those who do speak English, some have no computer access.

Le sigh....and all of them are probably the tickly demographic. Wouldn't that be the luck? ;)

Interesting look at the numbers...... I do think they are quite low though.

I think it's pretty cool you took the time to do all that math. I found it interesting. Thanks!

Wow, i wanted to try and do that myself but didn't know where to start! Thank you for posting this. I always wondered how the stats ranked up.

I know the numbers don't factor in allot of things as that would be impossible. Nevertheless, this is awesome! and a great start.

Thank you!

Did a little research. (Wow, this is making me look like a total math geek, which I'm not. Math geeks are awesome by the way.)

According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Internet_usage), only 40% of the world is using the internet! So... taking just that one factor alone into account, for our purposes that means we can take that 7.2 billion number all the way down to 2.9 billion! Which THEN means we can multiply any of those numbers by 2.5 to take that new bit of data into account.

So, here in the U.S., instead of only 4800, there are 12,000 of us. And in New York City, instead of just 320, there are 800 ticklepeople. Keep in mind I'm rounding things off like crazy (which will drive anyone who's really into meticulous accuracy nuts). So the higher the numbers being calculated, the higher the plus/minus factor. Lower numbers being calculated will be more "accurate". And I'm giving each location it's equal share based on population only. I'm not weighting anything based on, for instance, which locations are likely to be more kinky than another, and thus likely to have a higher number of ticklepeople. Every location is being considered as being just as kinky (or flirtatious, or sensual, or whatever) as the next. Like I said earlier, just playing with numbers. But the population numbers are real enough, and the TMF membership is real enough. Just basing it on those two things, it's interesting to see how the numbers work out just doing a little basic math. (Take heart, JoeP... you're not the only one anymore... there are 3 others now. Well, 2.4 others.)

Thanks to everyone who showed their appreciation. It was, uh, appreciated. :) All joking aside, thanks.
