How come since you got two auditions?
Aside from the very frustrating "cold feet" factor that MrTicklefeet described, there's also the fact that many of the candidates turn out not to be ticklish enough, or at least not to have interesting reactions. Tickling is in great part a psychological phenomenon. Some people are ticklish no matter what, but most have their ticklishness heavily influenced by circumstances.
Obviously, a tickling video shoot is very different from a spontaneous, everyday tickle attack from a friend, boyfriend, family member, etc. So even if a candidate knows she's usually very ticklish, it doesn't mean it's going to work during a shoot. Her ticklishness might be inhibited by the fact that it's not a spontaneous situation, that she's being filmed, that's she physically restrained, that there's a weird guy who produces tickling videos present, etc. A few react very nicely for one minute, or ten seconds, only to get desensitized really quickly, making a shoot pointless.
Also, people tend to underestimate how ticklish one needs to be for a video to be well received in a very competitive market by customers who have already seen it all. A candidate might assume that giggling a little bit qualifies as "being ticklish". Technically it does, but it's no enough for a commercial tickling fetish video.
So anyway, it's really common for the candidates who actually show up not to have what it takes. Sometimes it's kind of borderline, and I find myself torn between disappointing or annoying a candidate by not hiring her even though she clearly is ticklish to some extent and shooting a video that I know might not even cover its production costs. Other times it's a clean-cut decision, the candidate being clearly not ticklish enough, in which case it's still disappointing for both parties.
I don't think that's surprising at all! Most women like to fuck and suck! But only very few women like being tickled!
Indeed. There's also the fact that people are familiar with sex and porn. It's a huge market, tons of people do it, so it's nothing new. But a tickling fetish? How many people are aware of such a thing? Hell, some people don't even know what a fetish is (which I find amazing in this day and age). This is a totally new thing to them. So when someone offers them to do a tickling video shoot, without any nudity at that, they might worry that there's a catch, sometimes actually preferring the "safer" choice of doing a porn movie. It's very frustrating. I mean, I certainly am not hiding anything from them. I'm very clear that while it's only no-nude tickling, the videos are still meant for an adult audience, meaning that people will buy them for sexual gratification. Isn't that enough? There has to be a catch in addition to that? People can be really paranoid. Possibly with good reason, but it doesn't make it any more pleasant.
And then there's always the "being tied down by a complete stranger" thing that should be kept in mind!
That's one of the reasons why I encourage the models to work with a friend, including in my shoots offer and ads. That way, even if they don't have a partner, they know that I'm ok with having more than one person present, and so they feel a little safer. But I really do prefer working with teams. Solo shoots might be cheaper and allow me to do more of the tickling myself, but in the end I feel that a video with two or three models tickling each other has more value than one in which I do the tickling. Not to mention that the models usually feel safer and have more fun working with a friend or two. That's important to me. Even when the partner isn't actually a friend, but rather another solo model I hired to form a team, I'm sure it feels safer than doing it solo. Of course, when teaming up two strangers I make sure they're comfortable with the situation.
