In my many travels across many moons. I have realized one thing when trying to bring up the concept of tickling while tied up. Everyone I talk to (except from the TMF of course) think tickling fine and fun and all, but bring in the notion of someone being tied, all of a sudden its the biggest sin in the world. Why can't people connect that tickling someone while they are tied up is way more fun? Why can't every person be a member of the TMF...

It might. Not everyone possesses what they may consider to be a "sadistic streak" making them capable of tying someone up and tickling them. They may find the whole thing a bit unusual and out of character for them.

I think the "tied up" thing in general is what people have a problem with.
A lot of people see that as BDSM, reguardless of what happens afterwards, tickling, spanking, etc.

I see it as a control issue. While there are certainly many who relish the loss of control that being restrained offers I would suppose that many do not. Losing control, especially control as fundamental as movement, can be a cause of fear. To be restrained is to be at the peak of vulnerability. Consider where we see restraint outside of ticking: jails, prisoners, crime (hostages and the like), mental illness. Restraint has that connotation of crime, mental illness, or being held hostage. That, to many, is an instant danger sign. Consider a renfaire. While some might still consider the stockade a fearful thing I suspect many more would find it a fun or entertaining thing, if not to be in then certainly to observe. The specific connotation is a different one (Despite the origin of the stockade as a punishment).

It’s the desire to either control someone or being at someone’s mercy. It simply takes the whole ‘tickling’ thing to a completely different level.
While it gets even more ‘fun’ as in exciting and arousing to those who love powerexchange, it gets less ‘fun’ as in weird or even scary to those who simply don’t like the idea.

Condsider me for example,

but the mere thought of someone beginning to tie me, my breathing increases. I'm feeling a little...weird now just TYPING about it! If and I stress IF one day I allow someone to tie me, that person will clearly be entrusted w/ my life. i personally dont mind bondage depending on what it is but otherwise i prefer no bondage so that way it is not in the way of tickling.. there are guys out there making nonsense out of bondage so that bondage detracts from my interest... for example 'oh i get a foot to my face' or 'i need a better to have sex with' such lame excuse just simply puts more or all emphasis on the bondage and less or even degrades to none on the tickling. needless to say they must be lousy ticklers. Hmmm, I just felt like responding and saying that I haven't had the same experience. Most of the time, if you have the guts to ask, it seems (to me) that a lot more people are interested in being tied up than it might seem like at first. I've started joking with a lot of girls about tying them up, as a playful teasing kind of banter...and before long it turns out that the conversation angles toward how they really wouldn't mind it or find it kind of sexually appealing (not so bluntly spoken of course but, conversations like these are all about reading between the lines). Then again I'm a bit more drawn to interesting, out of the ordinary people - so maybe if you like more run of the mill chicks (which I kind of doubt - what fun are they? ) it will be a different experience.

I think tickling = fun & playful and tying & tickling = also fun, but a little more serious and more trust/convincing necessary. Don't loose confidence though, because if you ask or even hint at something like that without confidence....then it will never, ever happen.

Personally, I prefer being tied up when I'm tickled. If I can fight back, I inevitably end up blocking and fighting off, and when I manage to keep myself from fighting back and just taking it, I find it tickles less than it does when I'm helpless. When I'm tied down, I no longer have control. With someone I trust, I find that just adds to the excitement.

I don't know if I could just let anyone tie me up, tho. This is with my husband ... I know he would stop if I truly wanted him to. Not likely to happen, tho
