You've posted many similar thoughts in other threads, ST. Just wondering why you think Iraq shouldn't be laid low? They've been a horror for many many years and decades. It's an oppressive brutal regime that has demonstrated its lack of concern for most of the citizens of the country repeatedly.

Your contention that there are "other horrible regimes and dictatorships" doesn't excuse this one on any level. I would think all peoples who support any sort of representative government would be better off with the demise of a dictatorship that has shown no mercy whenever it has the opportunity to its enemies. Merely stating that the war isn't legitimate in your view doesn't seem productive or logical when considering the consequences of continued inaction. Shouting "oil" is another strange theory, as is the argument that freeing Kuwait due to their oil is all we were concerned about in the first Gulf War. The United States is not dependent upon Middle East oil, and is growing less so every year. Hybrid cars and hydrogen fueling technology are developing quickly. The untapped Alaskan reserves would tide us over for centuries if needed. The election is still years away, and thinking that there's "no reason" to remove the Iraqi regime is the epitome of "closed minded". No war is indeed a worthy and noble goal, but until there's no more pyscopaths like Saddam about, I hope the world can muster enough courage to address these pockets of evil and confront them as needed.
