Am sure some of you remember me (or my previous profile KoocheeKoo). I first joined TMF in 2004. My life has been turned upside down during the past few months. I began suffering pain and swelling in my left thigh last winter. What was first diagnosed as a pulled muscle turned out to be a very aggressive form of Osteosarcoma (cancer).
I was admitted to the hospital in February after collapsing at work, and quickly diagnosed with cancer. It didn't respond to chemotherapy so the decision was made to amputate my leg in May. Have been in a nursing/ rehab center since leaving the hospital.....doctor says I'm in remission, but due to the large size (8") and high grade of the cancer, there's a 60% chance it will return. Am just cherishing every day I'm blessed with and hoping for the best.
