You're right...in the short run, but this falls under the heading of "has to be done", and has the potential to do a lot of good in the looooong run. If there is EVER to be any sort of world government, we need to start interacting with each other on a much more emotional level. Admittedly, it would be terrific if it could be done using something more positive as a goal, but realistically, we're a violent race, and this touches our basest emotions and stirs us deeply. The "benefits" of our current activity look small and meager indeed at this point in time, but it's possible that from a historical perspective, this may be the turning point for future commonality. Hope so, because otherwise we're just going to be tearing up a lot of countries to make our point crystal clear to those who would attack us in the future, which in itself isn't a worthless endeavor. Still...would be nice if this was a pivotal sacrifice. Q
