Minimum 4-character search

Say you're looking for a name that's only three letters long (and they do exist), such as Ivy (magict.com). You enter it in the bar corresponding to the Search forum. This is where it turns into a stinker.

When I'm searching for a 3 letter word I usually put a * at the end. Like " dog* "

This is why we need a help page for the search routine. I'm sure there's other search stuff that would be great to know if it was laid out for everybody.

"Kalamos" is longer than 3 chars.

"Kal" isn't.

But seriously, the 4 letter search can be a little irritating at times >.< . I can see why its there though, as the server load would increase substantially, due to the number of these 3 letter combinations that appear in other words, all of which are searched and displayed when you run the search.

I thought it only searched for whole words, not part words?
