Greetings NEST newbie class of 2011.
For those of who have not yet come to a chat or met me, my name is Dave (baldadonis). Along with my better half Sarah (sasaxrah) we are your NEST newbie liaisons. I hope you all are as excited as I am. The NEST team is hard at work to put together a really fantastic weekend. NEST is probably my favorite weekend of the year and it sincerely changed my life when I went for the first time in 2008. If you have even a fraction of the fun I have every year, you'll have one heck of a great time. But enough advertising; you already paid for the event.
The final NEST newbie online chat will be held next Friday, 4/22/11 at 9pm EDT. If you have already attended one of the first two chats you are more than welcome to attend again. If you have not yet attended, I HIGHLY recommend that you come. It is not mandatory, but highly encouraged, and as further incentive, if you attend any newbie chats you will receive 50 casino dollars (not real dollars) for Robace's Friday casino night social event where you can win some great prizes and awesome swag.
I will be flying solo for this chat and will endeavor to answer whatever questions you have about the weekend. However, beyond being a Q&A session, the chats are a great opportunity to meet fellow newbies before you arrive. Believe me, it really helps ease the butterflies about the weekend to get to know some other attendees and hopefully make some friends before you arrive. If you haven't put up a profile and a picture of yourself on the NEST attendees website, and I can see many of you haven't, I HIGHLY recommend you do that also. Makes it much easier to find your friends if you know what they look like.
The chat will be held via yahoo instant messenger conference. If you wish to participate, firstly you will need a YIM screenname. So if you don't have one, go on yahoo and make one. Then you need to let me know what your screenname is so I can add you to the conference. You can send me your handle by pm'ing me on the forum or iming me on YIM (sn is baldadonis428). Then be online at 9pm or even a few minutes earlier so I can add you to the conference. Even if you came to one of the previous two chats, please do me a favor, and if you are going to attend, send me your yahoo sn again. Sarah was the one running the conference the last two times and I may not have every sn saved.
