PC Question

I started wondering this yesterday, but couldn't find an answer on the net.

Seeing as I've never done it, I thought I would ask you all.

I have my laptop [the one I'm posting this with] and my sister's old, still working, laptop.

Now my question is, if I clean out my sisters old one, can I hook it to mine to use as a storage device?

I know it sounds crazy, even more so as I have a 500GB external hard drive, but I was trying to make some use out of my sisters old laptop [right now it's just setting around collecting dust]

I would imagine you can just connect two laptops using a USB to USB connection,

It looks possible but you might need a special type of USB cable to do it

I suppose the other option would be move stuff off your hard drive onto your sister's laptop, then carry on adding to the hard drive from your own laptop

Why not put Linux onto the old laptop? You'll not only have extra storage but an extra machine to use. (I recommend Ubuntu or Debian).
