Shooting at Clackamas Town Mall in Portland, Oregon

This happened 5 hours ago just 10 miles away from me. Some guy with a hockey mask and assault rifle walked into the food court of the Clackamas Town Center Mall in Portland, Oregon and opened fire. He killed at least 2 people, and has severely injured many others. The shooter is dead, though at time of posting this it's still unclear if the shooter committed suicide or was shot dead by the police. I personally suspect it's the latter.

It's times like these I feel I should be able to write a letter to all of humanity. Unfortionately, the highest roof top I have to shout off of is this small portion of the internet. The letter would go a little something like this:

Dear all of humanity,

If you are a person with an intimate desire to kill people, have you considered just killing yourself? Seriously! Think about it! It's win-win! You get to kill someone and the the rest of us won't regret your actions! To everyone else, enjoy your life and pray for everyone who have unfortunately lost their lives to these jerks.

What's disturbing me the most is these latest mass murderers nowadays have absolutely NO PROBLEM committing suicide afterwards by literally BLOWING THEIR OWN BRAINS OUT. It's like they don't fear what lies after death if you HURT A GREAT DEAL OF PEOPLE! That's...troubling...to say the least.

It's actually been proven that if the Media makes a big deal out of mass murders then other dumb ass people will try to do the same damn thing. What I can't understand is why the hell more restrictive gun ownership laws haven't passed Congress (especially after all the NUMEROUS school shootings and mass murders that have taken place in this dumb ass nation of ours).

Last I checked, having a fully automatic assault rifle is illegal in this country. Strict gun laws or no, criminals are going to find a way to get what they want. That's what makes them criminals.

That being said, I agree with you. I think it should be mandatory for a person to take a firearms safety course and pass a psychological evaluation test before they can legally own a gun.
