Should I Be Nervous When Doing This?

Admittedly, I'm not that well known here yet, but I'm a new 3D artist who is looking to start making and publishing comics. Unfortunately, most publishers who specifically focus on tickling are either closed down, or are next to impossible to get into contact with. I tried getting into contact with MTJ Publishing, but they said they won't be taking on new artists any time soon - if ever again. So I'm kinda forced to go outside of the tickle community to find people willing to publish my works or look at them without some kind of judgment.

Am I just overthinking this, or is it reasonable for me to be a little nervous trying to find a publisher outside of this community? I just feel kinda weird when I tell people what I'm trying to publish and they're not part of the community.
