Signature Picture / Avatar

Hi,
I would like to add a signature picture or avatar like other members have but I can't figure out how to do it - one member has tried to instruct me p/mail - I know the picture I want to use and I have it in 'my pictures' - what I need to know is how and where on this forum to post it - I have tried entering an imageshack code in the signature place but all it shows is the typing and not the picture. Please give me some guidance in the simple words I understand.

pm Mimi about it. she does most of the signatures that you seee here, such as mine. although some create their own. but Mimi does a great job

Y'know when you make a post theres that little yellow box with the sun and the mountains on it? I think If you put the code in there it will show up as an image. Give it a try, thats how I got mine to work anyway.

Yes, that's the image button. To put an image in your post or sig, click on that button, and enter or paste the image's link. Then it'll show up (unless the link is dead, of course). For example, if you click on that button, and put in this: http://us.a1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/ww/beta/y3.gif
