The "Blessings" and "Good Luck" Thread

I find it very important to keep track of the good and wonderful things that happen in life, as it is possible to forget about them once the bad begins to outweigh the good. Therefore, I have made this thread so that you all can post and share your accomplishments, pleasant surprises, bits of good luck, or - if you roll that way - blessings.

These experiences can be of any proportion, from getting a promotion to simply being able to smile today. Hell, if you performed a healthy bowel function, tell us. If you're happy, we're happy.

I'll start: for the first time in a couple days, the mailman actually didn't rip off the flag and flap of my mailbox when inserting the mail!!!

Honestly.. I consider a "blessing" to more be something.. or someone.. in your life.. that you had no control over that person being who they were in your life.

For me, my greatest blessing in my life, was my wonderful mother. She was always patient, and kind, and loving to me, from the first moment she met me, until the moment she died.

It's difficult for me to say that something I worked hard to achieve, and got because of my efforts.. is a blessing, such as my college degree, or insurance license, or jobs in the insurance field. Those things were achieved by me with months and years of hard work, and effort. While I was, and am, happy to have them, I still more view a blessing as something that happened to me, or someone I knew.. who or which enhanced my life, without my having control over knowing that person, or over said circumstance happening to me.

I balanced my EOM on the first try and got all of my reports to my accountant the next day, a record for me since doing all the book keeping myself.
