The Joy of Craft Stores

The other day, I was at a chain craft store searching for the perfect fabric for this skirt I want to make, and decided to take a detour through the painting section.

The sheer number of tickle-friendly brushes I saw nearly brought me to tears of joy.

I could have spent hours there, trying out all of them, testing them on my palm or my forearm, yet I was concerned about running into someone I knew, leading to an awkward conversation.

I'll have to start taking road trips to some distant ones, so I can "perv out" in private peace.

Anyone else find themselves having a lot of ticklish thoughts in craft stores?

Why not just hang around? I don't think people pay nearly as much attention as we pay to ourselves.

The fabrics section also carries satin/velvet ropes for curtains and upholstery uses, and the doll/mask section always has feathers.

Yeah, I doubt anyone would think much of someone buying a few paintbrushes.

If someone caught you "testing" the brushes, acting like a complete hipster would probably work, lol.

You know, that's an excellent point, yet I can't help but become self-conscious in those situations. I was raised to believe that any behavior outside the norms could result in large groups of people rushing over to publicly shame me. I really should get over that.

The fabrics section also carries satin/velvet ropes for curtains and upholstery uses, and the doll/mask section always has feathers.

Don't forget the jewelry section, where there are usually all number of leather or silk cords, which could be used for a variety of purposes.

It helps that I, in many ways, actually am a hipster. I'll be sure to wear my pointed glasses and suspenders next time!

I should go into one and start playing with the paint brushes until someone comes up to and asks if I paint. I'd look them straight in the eye and tell them "no, I'm looking for the ones that tickle the most for the next time I have my woman tied up".

It is definitely an internal feeling - I'm sure that all of the "shame" is inside my head.

I'm not sure what sort of response you'd get. Perhaps just slowly walking away. . . Perhaps calling the police. . . Perhaps they'd just take off all their clothes and insist you ravage them right there in Aisle 7.

I think the shame derives from the idea that we feel we need to ask and obtain acceptance from others. Because I feel that way about 2/2 fetishes I have.

I don't think "vanilla" people "think" about having sex. ....They just do what they're supposed to do. Put the hot dog in the bun or hit the baseball or connect the dots or whatever analogy you can make.

By feeling like we need validation/acceptance/the need to question we're ultimately giving power to the person who is just expecting the "usual."
