Heres the email i sent with the reply underneath:

Hi there,

I was wondering whether the video clip that was on the following page had been saved in any way so that it can still be accessed? Heres the link, it was a series on bbc based on the human senses and the clip would be extremely useful for a project i am involved with at the moment

thanks and i'm afraid the BBC seems to be the only way of getting hold of this show unless it gets repeated or someone sees my request on ebay(which i will repeat regularly!)

i'm not quite sure how or who to approach the BBC about getting a clip with young girls being tickled on it, or how much it would cost.
even if i did get a copy i wouldnt be able to make a clip to post online

anyone feel brave enough to make enquiries?

this is a great find as now we the know the clip is definitely obtainable - the hertfordshire library is pretty local to me so i had a look at the site but here:

there is stuff about licensing and who can actually purchase the videos. it looks as though only schools and organisations with an ERA license can get it

i've looked for it on the waybackmachine (see post in links section) and the pages themselves are archived here http://web.archive.org/web/20030608103937/http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/senses/index.shtml which i think it was we knew anyway and the clips just come up as a red cross so i guess they aren't saved online at all - if you click to try and watch the clip you just get this page http://web.archive.org/web/20060425160858/http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/senses/realmedia/tickling.ram

I WILL find this clip somewhere somehow, if its the last thing i do.

Sarah Blakemore was the scientist involved - it might be possible to approach her online by email or something and ask if any clips from the show are available?

i emailed her a while ago - she didnt have the clip herself but advised me to contact the BBC- where of course it either costs an awful lot or u need the teachers license thing etc etc

sorry i'm afraid not - i've not really looked much been so busy at work, but next month things are much quieter so i'll launch another search!!

Sorry to burst your bubble chaps but from what i've read, it seems increasingly unlikely you'll get this clip...just seems like too many obstacles plus it has been a few years...

absolutely! the scene was great, they did tickling barefoot with fingers and feet were kinda locked in a stock-influenced design. 6 girls (under 18 of course),each of which was focused on. they then stopped for a small discussion and then did the tickling again whilst the ticklees tried to balance a frizby in order to cancel out their ticklishness - it didnt work!

from what i remember there were two going nuts, two close to going nuts and tow were sort off going nuts sporadically, then calming down. there were close ups of feet, face and general shots going down the line so all in all the perfect scene - except the girls were under 18 and the scene seems to be long gone!
