What defines a "Professional Tickler?"

I was chatting with some of my models the other day and one of them referred to me as a professional tickler.

This kind of caught me off guard - I wouldn't consider myself to be a professional at tickling - but it did make me think. What the hell IS a "professional tickler?" What would be the qualifications for that kind of thing?

Your thoughts?

I would say that to be a professional X-er (for any activity X) requires two things: You earn most of your income by doing X, and you can support yourself with the income from X.

Thats similar to pro vs amateur in regards to sports but id disagree with the support issue.

I think professional is just a subjective term

a pro tickler gets paid for what an AM tickler will do for free

Forget about the money, a real pro is one that instinctively understands how to elicit unexpected & extreme ticklish reactions, even from the toughest of subjects. :veryhappy

Basically what milagros said. If you can sustain yourself with the income from it, then you're a professional.

I agree with the salary idea. I think a professional is defined by the fact they get paid for what they do, whereas an amateur performs the job for free. I think there is also a level of skill to it too though. I think that a professional is more advanced in the craft they are performing than an amateur.

I'm with everyone else Viper. Professionals earn income for they work, especially when speaking with a model. You're both professionals in each your respective lines of work.

Now the fact that she thinks you can tickle people like it's nobody's business is a bonus! :D

You need a master guru of tickling to teach others to be a pro. But then again, we dont know who tickler in black was, so who knows who he gave his wisdom to?

IMO, it has nothing to do with getting paid, but having an amount of skill that puts you above the crowd. Although...you might say that a professional tickler is someone so good, you wouldn't mind paying them to tickle you, lol.

A "pro" could teach others how to tickle. They are highly skilled, have experience, take their craft seriously, and know how to elicit the response they want, when they want.

Bingo! Said so well, ain't nuffin' left to add. 'Cept this, o' course. :smilestar

A professional tickler has nothing to do with skill. If one gets paid to tickle, that alone makes one a professional tickler.

It depends. They could mean that you are very skilled or earning money.

Professional:

1. The highest academic qualifications - i.e., university college/institute

2. Expert and specialised knowledge in field which one is practising professionally

3. Excellent manual/practical & literary skills in relation to profession

4. High quality work in (examples): creations, products, services, presentations, consultancy, primary/other research, administrative, marketing or other work endeavours

5. A high standard of professional ethics, behaviour and work activities while carrying out one's profession (as an employee, self-employed person, career, enterprise, business, company, or partnership/associate/colleague, etc.)

Also taking into consideration natural & harnessed talents integrated & used with qualifications & when doing work in professional capacity. These talents~skills are just as important in any forms of work be it paid, unpaid, volunteer, domestic jobs or any other work.

The L.A. area is full of people who call themselves actors and may even have a Screen Actors Guild union card. IMHO, no matter how talented they may be, if they aren't actually able to earn a living by being paid to act then they're not professional actors.

Side comment:
Yes, the marketplace is cruel, especially when you see well-connected offspring (such as Tori Spelling) and other talentless people (such as Paris Hilton) earning big bucks by acting.

Back to the main topic:
By analogy, if you aren't able to earn a living by being paid to tickle, then you're not a professional tickler.

Well, I am confused...I make my living off of tickling, because my main source of income, and how I support myself, is Viper Productions. WOuld that qualify, or is there something I am missing?

You qualify under both definitions of "professional".

1) Tickling is your profession...your main income source.
2) And you are a "pro" in every sense of the word...expert, skilled, verygoodatwhatyoudo.

All bases covered!

Yes! The quality of your work allowing you to sustain the quality of life you enjoy. Once you’ve accomplished that, you are a professional tickler.

Congratulations Viper! Unfortunetly there is no established authoritative body to grant you a proper license … YET! :triangle:

No doubt about it

You have arrived. You are a professional tickler in every sense of the word. There's not many who can honestly say that, so congratulations. You've done well.
