First off, I will make this a sports related post, by saying its great to have a sports forum!!
I asked about it, and now no one can say the MODS dont take suggestions!
It was something I thought about for a LONG time and Im glad that Jeff and the other MODS agreed to it.
THanks to everyone who helped and who posts sports threads for making it happen!

WE DID IT!
Now on to a sports related item.....what is everyone's view on the US being out of the WBC.

I think its a great idea having a place just for sport at least we know were to look now for things of interest.

Yeah I was surprised USA was knocked out, not knowing much about baseball I saw there team and was like their all big time players in the MLB plus being held in USA I thought they would win.

I figured the US would win it, but it looks like Korea is unstoppable!

Rob, really glad there is a sports thread now. The WBC is great for the world but I think that under present scheduling of the tournament and the fact that it is pros playing, USA won't do all that well. I just don't think our pros will put the feeling and emotion that is needed to match the countries they are playing.

Well let me first say THANKS to Jeff and the Mods. This a great idea. This is really cool Jeff. Fantastic effort put forth on your part. From deep down, THANK YOU!!! This is just great!!!

Now, I NEVER liked the of the WBC!!! Absolutely loathe it. It is exhibition games. When pitchers can only throw 30 to 40 pitches in the first round and the players can't go their hardest the first couple of weeks because of the possibility of injury it is not entertaining. Look, I LOVE baseball but if the first round COULD end it a tie ( which it could have after 14 innings in round one ) then how can you get away with calling it CHAMPIONSHIP BASEBALL. You can't. This thing would have failed GREATLY had and Alex Rodriguez or Derek Jeter or Albert Pujols had gotten seriously hurt. What you have to keep in mind is these teams don't pay for these players to play. The Yankees or Cardinals or Red Sox or whomever pay these players. If Jeter got hurt, do you think Steinbrenner allows A-Rod to continue to play when he has 6 years left at $150,000,000. NO WAY man. Not going to happen. If these guys are going to get hurt it will be in their camps and their trainers taking care of their players. That is just common sense. Anyone want to debate these thoughts???
