Week #5 Football Standings

This was a very strange week. We had two games finish with ties in the pointspreads. We had 6 people finish with .500 records. Four finished above .500 and four finish below .500. Let's take a look at the standings for this past week.

Those were the sanding for week 5. Now we look at the standing through week #5. If you recall, last week it was Michigan's own Sadira On top in the standings. But as I said last week it was a tight race. So Sadira with her 5-4-2 record was unable to hold on to the top spot for a third week. We do have a new #1. It is the biggest Cowboys fan around TickleFiend_05 gaining the top spot after 5 weeks. Let's see where everyone else is at after 5 weeks.

I will remind everyone that I will post the games and the spreads either Wednesday or Thursday. I will get the spreads from the newspaper USA Today in case you want to research the games yourself. Some good games this week coming up. It is still a VERY CLOSE race. Congratulations to Fiend for having not only a great week but for being in first place. Will he hold it after next week. We will see.

What is this deal with ties, and such. I counted my record and it should be 7-6. I made sure I put in when I made my picks, I wasnt picking the point spread.
If that is the only way to do this game, then please count me out and delete my stats from the running.
I dont pick with/against the point spread. I only like to pick which team I favor to win.

If you could explain it would be helpful.

Seriously though, I hate picking point spreads too. But I tend to take it as a challenge. And since no money is involved, it doesn't bother me near as much. At least I'm back to being .500 again.

Yeah same here... wasn't sure of ties... thought they'd go in our favor instead of hanging out there but what the hell... like you said Slacker... this ain't for money and it's all in fun. And to tell you the truth... I NEVER thought I'd make it to .500. I'm happier than a fly in a shit factory. Now... if I can just kick those Steelers in the ass and get them to do something besides lose...

Not a bad week, considering Indy let me down....I really wonder if the oddsmakers got that figure right

Dammit! i needed 1 crummy point in 4 of my picks to win them! now thats crap luck!

C'mon Rob! picking games without point spreads is like taking candy from a baby! you gotta love a challenge!

Well, when I picked the first several weeks, I never picked on the point-spread.
Id have to change my line of thinking....it can be done.
Just prefer not to have to go into the numbers. But if thats the only way to play, I suppose I might manage.
