I'm ROF over Yaqi's description of various and sundry members of this community. While I have no quarrel with said description (someone prove to me, please, that he came up with THIS out of the clear blue sky! LOL), I do have a problem with him appointing himself guardian of this culture. I could understand where this behavior comes from: when you hang around Howard Stern, the self appointed, obnoxious, mean-spirited King of All Media, it just seems to rub off.
Yaqi also seems to consider himself indispensable in some fashion. Such an impression could not possibly be further than the truth. I know I'm truly sorry he feels this way, but the fact is, he can take his effin' ball and go home. We all have many other balls to play with, and after he leaves, like most self-appointed Deities, he will find the bitterest fruit of all in his basket: he left absolutely no mark on the community. It'll be the obnoxious, mean-spirited King of All Media who will be remembered for tying girls and tickling them on his TV show. Others won't even be remembered as the answer to a trivia question.

I find it hilarious that somebody would post Yaqi's comments here at the TMF. Had Yaqi posted those comments here, it would have been deleted immediately. But he knows the community so well that he figured it wouldn't be long before somebody would do it for him. Congratulations!

Well, I don't know who Yaqi is talking about, because he's never met me, and I really could care less as to what somebodys opinion is over a bunch of people he's never met, but it sucks to be ill, I hope you fair well in your battle. I'll keep you in prayer.
Well whatever. The fact of the matter is that Yaqi is going through a hell that is painful. I am sure you would not have a good outlook on things if you were staring mortality in the face. I spoke to him earlier today in Yahoo IM. What he is going through would not be fun for anyone. I don't want to be part of a debate on this, but whatever he has done, I wish him the best and to make a speedy recovery. I am sure if anyone of us was in his predicament, we would want the same thing from the rest of us. Lets please show the dignity I know that we all have for anothers life and well being.

Ummm... yeah, that interview sounds alot like the one I read on the Howard Stern site from his autograph thingy (still don't know who this Stern guy is though)... he really doesn't seem to like this place now does he?
He should also try and use less rash generalisations and sterotypes cause very little of what he said applies to me anyway. Perhaps the part where I havn't admitted to a partner about how I enjoy tickling so much... but that is purely because when I had a partner, I didn't know I did like it.
Everything else though is complete tripe.

Yaqi HAS done some great stuff...Also some mediocre stuff.
Yaqi has some wampum cajones to do the things he does in the public eye, and those of us who see it normally appreciate it.
Yaqi has an opinion, a powerful one at that, and he's exercising his free speech, albeit in an insulting way.
I have read some of Yaqi's previous "rants" concerning the online Tk community, and also some of Kujman's. Both of these fellows show the signs of a Poe: Some brilliant achievements coupled with an unhealthy dose of self-loathing which manifests itself as lashing out at those who love them the most.

I just would have used gentler nomenclature. I have nothing against Yaqi. I don't know him personally, and I could well be way off-base with this. But I, like Yaqi, am exercising my free speech.

I've never quite understood Yaqi's mentality. He sold tickling videos himself, been on several top-rated shows, including The Other Half, and of course has been on Howard Stern a few times promoting himself.
In his previous rants, he claimed that he hated tickling videos and called them "nothing more than mastabatory and "wanking away" material". But he does not have a problem producing and selling his own lines of videos. Maybe he truly believes what he claims, or maybe he's just using reverse psycology. Only Yaqi knows for sure.

Good luck with whatever way you choose to fight your illness Yaqi. No matter what happens, you can always console yourself that the disease was never bad enough to take away your self-effacing wit and gentlemanly charm. 
If a person seeks compassion, it would be wise for them to have compassion for those that they ridicule.

The truth was, Yaqi, that I admired your effort but I wanted to encourage you to continue and not post anything negative.
I gotta admit he has the balls to humiliate himself on Stern and the Dick Clark show but it doesn't make him the King of all tickling media. No one is and I doubt any one of us really wants to be. It's a sexual fetish that is best left in the private sector, not a new religion.
I will give him lots of credit for his participation, productions, enthusiasm. He definitely has ambition, but it's hard for me to feel sorry for someone who feels he needs to take everyone else down with him.

While I can't agree with the things that Yaqi says, and find it sad that he feels the way he does, I don't think that's cause for people to be downright spiteful to him. Okay, he hasn't done himself any favours and certainly hasn't won any friends, but come on, you're being quite flippant and blase over someone's life.
Maybe I'm just too compassionate due to the circumstances, but it just leaves a nasty taste in the mouth to read some of the things here. While he has no right to tar us all with the same brush, shouldn't we be a bit more understanding?

...he posted a link to the site that contained the press release - not really all that much different, IMHO, but I just figured I'd save people the couple extra clicks so we didn't have a bunch of tearfuls not bothering to read Yaqi's "goodbye" and sobbing over his departure.

You told me you don't need this kind of confrontation in your present condition. All I can say is, if you are going to dish it out, be ready to take some back, illness or not.
I may hang out in the chatroom, but I am far from a snivelling wannabe. I go out and get what I want, every chance I can.
I would like to say further, that if you ever get well enough to tickle again, you would probably not be able to keep up with a ticklee like me. I am more real and more woman than you could ever handle and it has NOTHING to do with my size.
