Question for mods

Hello,

This is a question for the mods. I have a great idea for a story that I would like to write and let me start out by saying that I have read the rules about what is acceptable and what is not. This is for further clarification and I apologize in advance if this is stated in the rules and I did not understand it.

The story I am writing about includes real people that I know. The story itself is fictional. The main character is 36. The story will also include her daughter who is 18. My question is this. I have known this woman since she was 21. Her daughter at the time was 3. We dated for a short period of time and it didn’t work out etc etc and since then, I haven’t seen her or her daughter until just recently. Is it ok for me to include the daughter at all? If so am I allowed to make a small mention of the daughter while she was under 18 as long as there is no dirty business? If not, I can find a way to rework the story. I just think it would fit better all together if I’m allowed to include her since she is now 18 and I have had zero interaction with her since the last time I saw her years ago.

Again I apologize if this is clearly stated, as I mentioned before I am just looking for clarification.

The basic idea of the no minor content rule is pretty direct. Don't depict a minor character in your created media.

So if this story is set in the now, when the daughter is 18 then it is perfectly fine to do.

Can you character mention that he knew her when she was a minor, yes. Because that is not a depiction of a minor, but of a story element of the character speaking.

What you cannot do is bring forth direct memories of the minor descriptively as that becomes a depiction.
