It's like I always say, "There are 2 types of people on this world, those who like Dolly and Ass Holes.", now when I say this I don't mean her music so much because not everybody is in to country. However from whay I have heard, read, and seen of Ms. Parton in Bios and such she is one of then nicest people you could ever meet. She built her park Dollywood near a poor town (giving people work) when she could have had it built anywhere. When the guy who helped her get started (can't remember his name) was going through some problems she bought the rights to his music to help him out. Then when he was back on his feet she gave it back to him as a birthday gift.

She is sassy and silly, but under those big boobs and wigs is an angle with a heart of gold. I'd say God Bless Dolly Parton, but I think he blessed us with her.

At the risk of sounding shallow, I've always been impressed by women who hang onto their good looks for decades on end. Goldie Hawn comes to mind, and Ann Margaret looked hot all the way into her 60s.
 
I felt it only necessary to respond to this thread, after seeing what's happened to the general section in the last three days.


Dolly Parton is an absolute legend in both fields of country and pop music. Everyone knows her hits, but a more less-known cd to check out is her 1999 bluegrass disc "The Grass is Blue". A truly phenomenal disc with cool versions of Billy Joel's "Travelin' Prayer" and Blackfoot's "Train, Train". Dolly's two follow-up bluegrass cds are just as good.

A Sad Note to report: Dolly made a visit to the man who really introduced her to The Country & Western Industry, Porter Wagoner. Porter is in a Nashville Hospital with Lung Cancer according to CNN Entertainment.

Porter is the guy she helped out. I saw it on A&E i think. She bought the rights to his music and then she gave it back to him for his birthday. Thats why she is one of the best ever. Sorry to hear about Porter's Condition, I hope he makes it, but there is no dout the man must have lived a great life.
