What accents do you like to hear, and what accents do you absolutely loathe?

Personally, I love Scottish accents - I'm not entirely sure why, I just think they sound fantastic.

I hate the Brummie accent. With a passion.

im with you on the scottish acccent, ever since hearing KT tunstall talk, sexeh lady!!

I love British accents, as well as Aussie, Kiwi, and Scottish.

In fact to all the Brits on this forum, if you have any advice on how to properly anunsiate your accents, please tell me via pm or on this thread. I am directing a movie this summer that I am also acting in, and my character is Desmond Manchester, a British filmmaker. So far I am trying a cross between Henry Ian Cusack and Dominic Monaghan from LOST!

Any input is welcome....

Ok, honestly....listening to a woman with a British, Irish or Scottish accent drives me absolutely crazy....my apologies if that was TMI.....

Best accents to me are:

Aussie (Funny when males have it, sexy when females do.)

Brazilian (Maybe because I love me some Victoria Secret models?)

Eastern European/'light' Russian (Undeniably the best to me! The 'thickness' of it is exotic, when a female has the accent mixed with a gentle voice it's TOPS!)

Also, I find Scottish accents or 'light' Irish accents delightful, from a personality perspective. Those accents always seem to make the moment light-hearted and 'jolly-good'😀.

i have always really been in love with the accents of the UK (scottish, english, irish). i also love the italian accent as well, myself being of italian decent. right up there with them are the australian and romanian accents. but the UK accents are my top favs. i can remember when i was in germany, i took my wife to scotland for her birthday. i loved the accent so much then, that when we went to breakfast one morning, i was able to con a really cute waitress into sending home a christmas message for our families on video, just for the sake of hearing her talk. lol!! of course, she probably thought i was a huge pervert, but then again, who doesn't? lol

i don't care who you are, you get a good looking scottish girl in front of me, she can talk about the most boring thing ever and she's got my attention the entire time!

as an interesting note, my wife and i also took a trip to the canary islands while we were in germany also. this is a spanish territory, so the predominant language is, of course, spanish. there are also tons of scuba diving companies on these islands. the one that i dealt with while i was there was owned and operated by a bunch of people from scotland. now, imagine a really cute scottish girl with a heavy accent, speaking spanish, asking for fish heads so we could feed some stingrays. that was quite the auditory experience right there!

What the fuck is a "British" accent please? Do you mean "English"? If you want to learn to do a Mancunian accent go and buy some Shameless DVDs, that'll sort you right out.

I like Welsh girls, their accents are ossom. Canadian accents as well; I could quite happily sit and listen to a Canadian girl reading from the phonebook >_< I do not like southern Irish accents, they get right on my wick, and I'm not too fond of southern English accents either :-o

Irish, Scottish, Australian (Sydney), New Zealand are sexy as hell coming off of a female tongue. Some Czech,Russian, and French I've heard was cool too. I happen to know a Swede with a cute accent too. 😉

OMG I am a HUUUUUUUUGE sucker for accents *swoon* Seriously - I melt.

I could list a hundred accents that I like...but my favs are Aussie and Irish :cupid: Seriously - you'll have me eating out of the palm of your hand in no time.

Lalala, you should now shut your piehole! 😛 I happen to know a 92 year-old cajun lady
who has this HILARIOUS accent O.O

Accents... ze french iz 'orrible! The german is funny. But the Texas, now that's some great stuff o.o

what about the californian, Run? people tell me i have an accent all the time lol! just kidding, i just wanted you to think i was hot lol!! 😀

I happen to love when a girl has an accent ... British (London) Italian, Russian, Spanish

I ... HATE ... the American Southern accent ... and Upstate New York

Love me some French and Jamaican. Also, some countries in eastern Africa produce some beautiful sounding people.

I can't stand Alaskan accents. I didn't really know even know what that sounded like until approximately August 2008. (Nuff said?) 🙂

Then you would truly loathe having a conversation with me and goth, me with my miserable texas accent and his with his Upstate NY habit of pronouncing things like "bite" with a mysterious o sound in the middle.

I enjoy all of them.

They are unique in their own way.

Ah... forgot to post my 'least favorite'.

I'd say Cajun/deep south.

I knew a guy from LA. who had a 'cajun' accent and a deep voice; it was hard as hell to hear what he was saying, and then to decipher it into logical sentences.

Also, many of folks I've met from India are great, and their accent doesn't bother me, it's their tone of voice.

They speak very quiet/reserved (at least many of the ones I met).

So again, it's more hard to hear them as opposed to what they're saying more than anything else. It gets kind of annoying sometimes.

I love Bostonian and Creole in America. I also love Russian, Italian and Senegalese. English are my favorites especially Liverpool, Scottish and London Cockney.

I'm big on southern irish accents and austrailian, some american accents are nice too.

When I've been in america, I've had quite a few compliments about my accent, although sometimes when i was there some people had trouble understanding me so i put on an american accent which helped :triangle:

English or Irish accents or anything similar are awesome.

Can't stand deep southern Red Neck. Drawl is ok.

I think the Scottish accent is the hottest.

I can't stand California accents though.

Now, what exactly is a 'Californian accent'? 😕

Do you mean 'surfer'? (Like Keanu Reeves-ish?)

Or Stoner? (Like Keanu Reeves-ish?😀)

Or 'valley girl'?

I've heard of many 'accents' (including the dreadful 'WaRshington' thing), but never 'Californian'...

I find all of the above to be painful to listen to, actually.
