With all the great gatherings from 2008 and the beginning of this year, I thought this would be a great time and a great thread just to post about any gathering or munch you went to.

This could be a great thread to show all of the feelings of all the events, kind of a reference thread for new members that have never been to one to see all the different types, people and memories that can be had at a gathering. Maybe get a few new folks to take that final step and attend one.

SO COME ON!!! Be it NEST, NHLee, Motown, Ohio, BBB, UNY, Michigan, West Coast or any of the munches! We may be separated by distance, but I think the end result is usually the same, and the thought process of deciding to go to one is pretty much equal. So lets all post some great memories that others can relate to and if this thread convinces 1 person to come out to their first gathering this year....then this thread has done its job.

Last year at NEST...

Classy getting me with the same prank five times in a one hour period which was scaring me with her car's panic alarm......

made me jump like 5 feet in the air....

Thanks jazzman. I just wanted a thread not for one certain gathering, just one everyone that has gone to any gathering or munch to share, and see how we are all really together, just wanted that NEST feeling a little sooner.

This is true. I now know who Spiderman really is because she had Impaler literaly climb the building wall with just his fingertips! I won't mention his screaming like a girl each time it happened.

Last NEST there was a round table discussion on Thursday night in the bar with DVNC, me, Jeff, Max Speer, Pokey, Nenezihno, and a pretty waitress. We were just about to solve all the world's ill when Team Canada exploded into the place. That was when I met Emporer Rob for the first time. That guy is nothing but energy and love for all. Very impressive first meeting it was and by the sound of things we are going to need a much bigger table for NEST Eve this year.:swayparrot:

For me it might be my first NEST in 2007.I admit i was pretty nervous on the plane.I had never been to a gathering before,and i was about to be surrounded by close to 100 fellow TMF'rs

I wondered if i would really fit in,because i'm kind of shy being around large groups of people i''ve never met before.Once i got to the hotel and started meeting people and putting faces to TMF names,that feeling went away quickly.I've never been so warmly greeted by so many people i had never met.

Kered,Pokey,myself and a few others had a great time hanging out in the bar/resturant and talking to and teasing Melanie,a very nice young lady who worked there.

By Monday,when it was time to head home i didn't want to go and leave my new family.That first time was the most liberating experience of my life and i wanted it to never end.

I have so many memories this past year so I'll start at the beginning with my first memory from my first gathering, Nest 08.

Upon arriving meeting Avenger314, my longtime evil trivia nemesis. I walked up to him, gave him a big bro hug and said "Hey man I'm Dave. Great to finally meet you."

He replied with a look of confusion, "Who?"

"Baldadonis," I clarified."

"Omg it's so great to meet you," he exclaimed as if suddenly remembering he knew me.

This is when I learned you have to introduce yourself by your screenname at gatherings. This was the discovery immediately preceding my realization that everyone who had seen my sn over the years expected me to be an old bald guy (i.e. Venray)

Yes I have to say.... I will never forget that. You are so easy to pick on and such an easy going guy about it.... makes it all the more fun. *hugs. *gets the ice cube*

I have so many fun silly memories. Natural scaring the hell out of a squirrel at my first gathering. Impalier climbing the walls at NEST. Impalier singing jazz while being tickled and OMG impalier again with the red dot on his forhead. RChello ( a 6'4 guy) climbing the stripper pole to the top of the warehouse making me lose my bet (a wonderful lose might I add). The kidnapping OMG!!!! lol and so many more things.

Can't wait to have more to add to my list.

I will never forget the sounds of giggles and roars of laughter echoing through the tiny little street running past Max’s loft! Spenser and I knew this had to be the right place when we pulled up – our first NEST, our first tickling gathering of any kind. After that it fades into a blur of smiles and introductions, tickles and giggles, tired and contented conversation long into the evening. Kindred Spirits!

I never would have guessed it would grow to what NEST now is! Congratulations, Max, and to each and everyone that has done their very best to show up as many times as they can manage. Wow! That kind of spirit and dedication is awesome.

I remember that place that had the balconies and the hanging swing (along with wall to wall mattresses on the floor). After insisting that I did not want to be tickled, I had so much fun in that swing that not only did I refuse to stop, but we came back to VA and bought one of our own. LOL… still have it! Gonna bring it!

But what I remember most is the happy tired feeling of being fulfilled but overwhelmingly sad at having each NEST weekend end… knowing it would be another year til it rolled around again. Hugs and even tears on partings. So many wonderfully special people!

My favorite gathering memory is watching Rob scrub his assprint off of
Lee's sliding glass doors at NHLee2009. :typerhappy:
 
I have to add another, and I assuming we all be adding a lot...

But another one for me is on Sunday night doing a recap show from NHLee, watching CrystalLight and BrightEyes work over HDS, and then me singing the Slinky Song, and then watch Brighteyes lose it at the last line when I sang "Is he a man or boy!".
She literally rolled backwards laughing and just couldn't get composure for a few minutes.

NHlee Robace singing and dancing in the kitchen as he worked.:rockingout:

Arriving at Chaneda's poker game at NEST to find Chaneda, Avenger, Alchemy, and AsuTickler sitting around talking while Tortuga tickled the diminutive tickle emperor in an immobilizer device. Eventually the game started and the emperor attempted to play but was too distracted to do anything but fold on every hand.

NEST......being amused that Classy kept calling me on my cell phone each morning with chores for me to do for her when she could have opened her door and just told me. I was usually sitting in the courtyard having early morning coffee no more than 40 feet away. When she told me to find her a glass coffee( she says caw-feeee) mug I made poor ol' Bugman get in the truck and we went hunting for the ugliest, cheapest one we could find. And there it was! On the bargan shelf of a drugstore. The ugliest coffee mug on the east coast. $1.78 with tax and big enough for two cups.

She loved it. I was crushed. Bugman started calling me Classy's bitch.
