OK so there's a thread kicking about that establishes The Bangles were fantastic. What other 80's pop bands (as in mainstream pop acts, not obtuse punk/ electro types) are ossom?

- Tears For Fears
- Deacon Blue
- Del Amitri
- Simple Minds
- U2 (I've liked roughly 5 of the songs they've released since about 1994)
- Spandau Ballet

Coz every thread on here seems to be about obtuse musicians and bands. I'm all for being a scenester and name-checking obscure artists in discussions, I just fancied giving the quality pop acts a fair mention too. Also it's my thread and I'll make it about whatever I want 😛

Duran Duran's "Hungry Like the Wolf" song is one of those few that gives me energy...Don't ask how that works. It just does.

I also loved the video for Aha's "Take on Me."

Considering that this thread is about BANDS, however, I guess my pick would be:

The Cars.

Now THIS is a super band, as far as I'm concerned. Fuck U2!

The Culture Club...Make fun of me all you will, but I have yet to hear a song they made that I didn't like.

Hell, I still remember that hoo-ha in the eighties when Boy George got evicted from france because he dyed his hair orange!:kirby:
