Do feathers really tickle?

Okay, that's an obviously stupid question, because of course any soft fluffy object that comes in contact with bare skin is going to tickle. but I've heard stories (of real tickling) where people are put into near hysteria simply by feather tickling. I will admit, that I personally haven't been on the recieving end of a feather, but once or twice in my life; but honestly...it really itches more than it tickles, and it's more annoying than it is enjoyable. So... just wondering about other opinions on this?

Manicured nails are much better.

Feathers are too soft. They don't apply enough pressure.

That's crazy talk! I LOVE feathers! Probably the worst (best?) way you can tickle me is with feathers, because they don't apply too much pressure, and they can reach into places that fingers can't. 😎

For me, the feather has to be just the right stiffness and texture to tickle. Duck pointers work best - they're about six inches long, and come to a stiff point. Guinea feathers have a nice stiffness to them, but I like them less because they're rounded at the end. Turkey feathers tend to have a cut, rounded end that you can't wield as well. Ostrich and peacock plumes are pretty and feel nice, but are too soft to tickle. Seriously, I'm quite the connoisseur. 😉

Anyway, it completely depends on the person, but a light touch is what tickles me, and I adore the feel of a feather (or even better, ten!). 😀

It depends on what a person responds to the most. Since I respond to a light touch, they work for me in most areas. But, if you're going to use tickle tools, those little sable hair artist brushes are best. :wow:

My wife HATES it when I use feathers in between her toes because that drives her nuts. Sometimes it will tickle her navel but between the toes is usuallythe only place she is ticklish with a feather.

In the past when I've used feathers, my 'lees have complained that they are either too stiff and feel like someone is poking them instead of tickling, or they are too soft and only produce a series of light giggles.

Haven't had much luck with feathers myself; pity 🙁

Oh well, there's always other methods. :upsidedow

Ears and nose

Small feathers inside the ears may be effective, and it's sexy as hell to watch a woman guffaw as the feathers tickle that particular spot. Also I haven't done this but I always wanted to experiment with restraining someone's head with straps across the forehead and feathering the nose until they go bonkers.

feathers work well on my nose, ears, and neck..sometimes when used on my arms, they can tickle..or between the toes..but on the soles of the feet? no..

Yes!, light touches from feathers and even makeup brushes Do tickle me on my feet, neck, ears, tummy as well as fingertips,nails..The more intense tickle tools such as electric toothbrush, hummingbird tickle even worse :blaugh: :blaugh:

feathers don't work at all on me, or the people who use them on me don't know how to use them lol

quill her to death!

I was not very successful with feathers, initially, during my last tickle session with a fun, comfortably restrained lady, and it was probably due to a combination of a lack of feather sensitivity, and my own bumbling excitement over having a cute pair of tootsies tied up in my lap and at my mercy..... 😛oke3:

However..........

Simply turning the feather around, and applying soft, long, slow strokes with the stiff quill, produced a torrent of laughter from her, and she quickly pleaded with me for a break from the tickling with that instrument......

So I am a strong proponent of feather tickling now......it just depends on which end of the feather we are talking about!.....

It depends entirely on the 'lee. I know some people for whom feathers do little or nothing. I know others who can't stand a heavy touch, and love feathers.

Don't poke with them, stroke with them! 😀 And be careful of the exposed quill that you often see on turkey feathers from the craft store - it's quite pointy and scratchy, and can hurt. I think the ideal thing is the point or edge of a stiff feather.

Yep, that's a good one! 🙂 Works best for me over the tougher parts of my feet, like the balls and heels.

They mainly just give me chills, but they seem to tickle me when applied between my toes and on my danger zone.
Those are my favorite spots for feathers, too.

I wouldn't be down with feathering the nose, but if you want to hold her head still while you tickle her ears, just run your fingers through her hair, firmly along her scalp (the same way she would push her hair away from her face), and press the opposite side of her head against the mattress. I find this most comfortable when I'm lying facedown, and you might also pin her body with your weight. Even without actually gripping her hair or hurting her in any way, you can make it very hard for her to move her head. And you've already pushed her hair away from that ear, so you can easily run a feather up and down behind it, over and over, tossing in the occasional stroke along her neck or collarbone, preferably while whispering evil things to her...

Ahem... anyway... that works well... and can be pretty hot, too.

Feathers dont really work well

My Ex Girlfriend Caroline Used to liked to be tied up and tickled however feathers did not work on her feet , only brushes and toothbrushes worked , yet feathers worked on her neck and most places other people have mentioned

I used to think that feathers were really lame and could never be effective.

Well, I learned my lesson. Some places respond better to the lighter touch than the digging in. And feathers can be quite devastating.

🙂

Not quite sure what you mean there ?

However in my vast (alright then limited) experience, the one place feathers are absolutely guaranteed to Tickle anyone is the nostrils and lips.

I was just expressing my personal preference. I don't enjoy having my nose tickled - it's more itchy than fun. But to each their own. 🙂

I usually prefer fingers to any kind of tool, but there is a certain time and place, where the light touch of a feather works better than anything else 😉

Welcome to TMF Monkey!

And OMG yes! But, if you try to get one anywhere near my face (ears, nose, mouth, etc.) be prepared to lose that hand, because I'll probably bite it off....:jester:
XOXO

That is quite evil. I tip my hat to you Sir.
I've actually wanted to do that too ^^; I've always imagined that one of the more devistating effects would be running the feather just under the nose, not too close to the nostral so that the person is always on the verge of sneezing, but not being able to do so. That would be extremely annyoing. 😀

hmmm.... without the use of my hands, I suppose I will just have to make due with my tongue on your beautiful feet, my dear. 😉

My feet are not as sensitive to light feather strokes. I might giggle slightly, but to get me to really laugh I need to finger action on my feet. For me some of it has to do with the person to person interaction. Whethe my ribs, sides, underarms, I prefer to fingertip touch. If I feel the pressure of the ticklers fingers, then there is more feeling as if I have been tickled and my reaction will be stronger. With the feather it seems more cute, then actually ticklish. I do know that others are very ticklish with feathers, that's great. That means they are very sensitive to light touch and very ticklish!!

In my opinion, feathers are useless. Earlier this year, I was being tickled by several wonderful ladies at a gathering. One lady was sawing a feather in between my toes. Now, my feet are horrendously ticklish, but when she asked me, "Drew, does this even tickle at all?" I had to reluctantly answer no. Once she switched to using her uber-talented hands, there was no need to ask that question again. 😀
