1,000 Books to Read Before You Die

"Will" by G. Gordon Liddy. Yeah, the guy's a nutcase, but his personal story of overcoming weakness and fear is impressive. And it's a great look behind the curtain of the FBI and the government.

Sybil

'Sybil' - Flora Rheta Schreiber

'And Then There Were None' - Agatha Christie

haha

I never read it, but it can't possibly be any worse than 'The Great Gatsby'.

'A Child Called It' - Dave Pelzer

The Great Gatsby sucked almost as bad as Grapes of Wrath.

If you agree with me, then you have great taste in books.

😀

The Satanic Bible by Anton Lavey.

Yes I know what you are thinking, but this one has some interesting insights to life and the way things really are.
It is about vidal existence, not about sacrificing your pets, worshipping a goat's skull, or drinking blood...

My god, that reads like a college syllabus. You're in school, aren't you? 🙂

Not at the moment. I read all those books in high school and I really think books aren't written like they used to. I took the thread literally as "1000 book someone should read before they die" instead of "list the book you're currently reading and find interesting" or "list your personal favorite book."

However, Crime and Punishment, really is my favorite book and everyone should read it.

"The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" by William L. Shirer

Animal Farm tells how it happens, 1984 tells what could happen
1984 is kinda goofy to me, Animal Farm is great.

Of Mice and Men
Lord of the Flies, good story about the darkness of basic human nature

Antone here read Terry Brooks? He's a great author.

The Dark is Rising (entire series) - Susan Cooper

Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal - Christopher Moore

Absolutely!!!!!!

ALL 7 Harry Potter books--J.K. Rowling
The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy--J.R.R. Tolkien
Gone With the Wind--Margaret Mitchell
Theophilus North--Thornton Wilder
Macbeth--William Shakespeare
The Captains and the Kings--Taylor Caldwell

and, yes, I dare to say it, regardless of belief and if only for a long period of oral heritage (fiddled with by many over the years): the BIBLE

Don't think I repeated anyone else's list

Cool! Someone else has read The Dark is Rising! I'm not sure why that excites me, but it does. 🙂

I've read it like 4 times. And it excites you because it's a damn fine series that no one's ever heard of.
