18 year old kills 14 year old girlfriend's parents

I'm against the death penalty mostly because it's embarassing to live in one of the only First World countries that still uses it, but then again, the issue isn't really that big of a deal to me. I just thought I'd throw a little turmoil into the mix.

And, if you're the parent of a fourteen year old girl, and you can't really exert control over who she sees in her leisure time, her away-from-home time, what nightmare scenarios are going through your mind right now?

When- if- he meets his appointment with the gurney, he will probably be 43 years old, will have most likely written a book, or spent a whole lotta time painting portraits in his death row cell, and have given People a half dozen interviews about what he's done since that night he shot this girl's parents.

Reality sucks.

Viper, I don't think anyone who's for the death penalty is an asshole. I just believe it's not the best form of punishment, for the reasons given in the anti-death penalty links in this thread. When a crime like this is committed, emotions run high, and people react in different ways. We all want to see justice prevail. No matter what we do, the girl's parents will still be dead, and the guy will still be guilty of killing them. I admit that when he dies, regardless of whether he's executed or not, I won't feel bad, because he should've thought of that before pulling the trigger. Let's just agree to disagree and move on. It's obvious you're not a murderer, and don't worry, I won't sue you. 😀
