OKay all you Football Fanatics...lets see how good you all are at evulating the draft. I do this every year with a group of friends, so I figured lets do it here.
Now Im not expecting everyone to go into detail or anything...if you just want to post a list...go ahead, me...I like to go into a little detail why I think this person will go here.
What I do is give 3 points for Top 10 picks done right...2 points for each correct matching pick for 11-20 and 1 point for each point for each correct pick from 21-32. For a tie breaker, Select where you think what round Marcus Vick will be selected and for what team.
Is there a prize...well other than being the "Mel Kyper" of the TMF if you decide to play fantasy football in the TMF league I will create this year...I will allow the winner to select what position he wants to draft in.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember Point values....1-10 = 3pts
11-20 = 2pts
21-32 = 1pt
Top Score Possible=62 points

So...I hope I have some takers....Ive seen a few other keen NFL minds here, Id like to see a few more.

My Mock Draft will be in the next post.

Rob

Here's My Mock Draft......

1.Texans--Mario Williams DE NCStWell it looks like the Texans will pick what they need more than what they want. Williams will instantly upgrade a defense in need of an impact player.

2.Green Bay(From New Orleans)--Reggie Bush RB/WR/KR USCThe Packers will use their 1st and trade Javon Walker this year and a 1st and conditional 3rd next year to secure this pick and select Bush. A new weapon for Farve and someone to help a possible shaky Ahman Green.

3.Tennessee--*Matt Leinart QB USC* The current problems with McNair is leading me to believe that the Leinhart era in Tennessee is about to being. Granted Volek has stood in admirably when McNair has gone down, but the tale on Leinart as a winner and also as Matt played under Norm Chow at USC before Norm came to Tennessee, make this seem almost like a match made in heaven.

4.NY Jets--Vernon Davis TE Mary The Jets are going to give "Project Pennington" one more chance, and think they can get a value pick at #29 the additional 1st rounder they now have. They want someone that can help now and alieveiate some pressure from a average Jets recieving core.

5.New Orleans--AJ Hawk LB OSU New Orleans continues to build a stout defense by adding stud LB AJ Hawk.

6.49ers--DeAngelo Williams RB Memphis Alex Smith had a terrible 1st year. And that was partly due to a lackluster running game. Barlow doesnt get the job done and Gore is more of the short yardage guy. The 49ers will be able to use Williams immedaitely and will look to pick up a WR like Maurice Stovall in the 2nd rd.

7.Oakland--M. Huff S/CB Texas Oakland seems to have a knack for picking players in the secondary. Huff will bring that hard hitting style that defines the Raiders.

8.Buffalo--H. Nygota DT Ore Buffalo needs another rushing DT and Nygota will field that need.

9.Detroit--Ernie Sims LB FSU With the 24th ranked run defense Sims will help shore up the run defense.

10.Arizona-Vince Young QB Texas I know this will come as shock to many people but I think this is a great pick and a great fit. Warner wont play a full season hes at the end of his ability and with a new stadium and a franchise RB (Edge) and 2 of the best young recievers in the game (Fitzgerald and Boldin) if not at the end of 06, the 07 season you will have one of the fastest and most potent offenses in the league. Arizona...get ready to hook em!

11.Rams--Merceedes Lewis TE UCLA It seems that a good TE can help nowaday more than ever. With St. Loius having many needs, their QB could certainly use a good dump off reciever and another option for their offense.

12.Cleveland-K.Whimbley DE FSU Another fast DE that can convert to LB...in the mold of the newly acquired Willie McGinnest.

13.Baltimore-W. Justice OT USC Probally the hardest team for me to figure out, but with Justice sitting there and Odgen already in Baltimore, why not get another 10 plus year starter.

14.Phildelphia- Sinorice Moss WR Miami Phildelpiha still needs a #1 WR. They are hoping fire will strike again with another Moss. Gives Phildelphia a deep threat and McNabb a downfield target.

15.Denver- Chad Jackson WR FL A standout at Florida, Jackson will help a Denver recieving core in serious need of depth.

16.Miami-Chad Greenway LB Iowa Time for a replacement for Junior Seau. Greenway will compliment Super LB Zach Thomas very well.

17.Minnesota-Jay Cutler QB Vandy Cutler will be the one to fall this far, and Minnesota wont let him get away. Johnson is not the long term QB in Vikingland but Cutler will give them their future QB. Dont expect Cutler to start any games this year, he will have a 1st year like Carson Palmer did.

18.Dallas- Jimmy Williams DB VT With visions of Santana Moss catching 2 long touchdowns still vividly implanted in the Cowboy's heads, a fast cover corner with attitude is what Jerry Jones desires and will get.

19.San Diego- Santonio Holmes WE OSU Phillip Rivers...OK youve got a QB. LT, great HB and Antonio Gates..a great TE, now for a wide out. Holmes will be great in the red zone and has the speed to stretch defenses. Holmes will give Rivers a reliable target downfield.

20.Kansas City-A. Cromartie CB FSU 30th ranked pass defense. Nuff said.

21.New England-D.Ryans LB Ala Help to replace departing defensive standouts.

22.49ers-*From Denver*Manny Lawson DE NcSt 49ers addressing the offense side at pick #6 need an immediate impact player on defense. Lawson at 6'4 and 241 lbs will be converted to LB and with his speed will disrupt plays in the backfield and provide a pass rush.

23.Tampa Bay- M.Kiwanuka DE BC Great bookend for Simenon Rice as well as he can learn from one of the best.

24.Cinncinatti- Nick Mangold C OSU Behemoth in the Center of a great run line. With an aging Center ready to hang it up...an heir apparent is needed.

25.NYGiants- Tye Hill DB Clemson Gave up an average of 224 ypg through the air. And with WR's like S.Moss and TO in the division this is a value pick as well as an impact starter.

26.Chicago- Brodrick Bunkley DT FSU Another talented defensive player can only help an already outstanding defense.

27.Carolina- LenDale White RB USC With UCLA standout DeShawn Foster not as reliable as Carolina would like, LenDale being available here will give the pathers that goal line threat they lost with the injury and departure of Stephen Davis. And with a 2 HB punch White can take time and not hurry back from his hamstring injury. As well as not have to carry the ball 20 to 30 times a game.

28.Jacksonville- L.Mahoney RB Minn Lets be honest Fred Taylor is in the last legs of his carrer and to get a quality back that could start at #28 is a steal.

29.NY Jets- Bobby Carpenter LB OSU The Jets will address their defensive needs with this pick. A great LB might just fill the bill.

30. Indianapolis-Roger McIntosh LB Mia With a void at LOLB McIntosh will be the best available for the position needed at this pick. McIntosh will be an immediate starter an with great lateral speed will fit right in.

31.Seattle- Eric Winston OL Miami Replacing Hutchinson is a must. This is at least a step for the reigning NFC Champs.

32.Pittsburgh- Johnathon Joesph CB SC Another great value pick for the Steelers to replace another defensive standout going elsewhere. Joesph can return kicks (averaged 23.5 yds) supports the run well and has the size and speed necessary to fit into a great secondary.

Now for where I think Marcus Vick will go......remember at #7 that I said Oakland might pick up a QB in the 2nd round...well if Cutler is available in the 2nd they will if not they will go with Vick in the 6th round...(someone was right Oakland has no #5)

I know its long, but lets see what you all come up with.

well, here's my take...

1) Houston Texans - Reggie Bush. this is a no brainer. this kid is a special athlete that comes around only ever blue moon. if the Texans do not take Bush, they will be the biggest idiots that ever managed football. people say Vince Young will go here, if they take Young, then the Texans management are complete and total idiots.

2) New Orleans Saints- Mario Williams. the Saints need help on defense. this guy could be the next Julius Peppers.

3) Tennessee Titans- Matt Leinart. this should be obvious. Norm Chow MADE Leinart at USC. Norm Chow taught Leinart about NFL defenses and NFL offenses. Leinart could probably start for the Titans next year as Leinart is PREPARED for the NFL. if they pick Young, then the Titans management are complete idiots.

4) NY Jets- D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Pennigton is a good hit away from retirement, so they need to protect him. a good Left Tackle should help.

5) Green Bay Packers- AJ Hawk. the Packers need defensive help, like plants need sun to live. Hawk will be a damn good LB in the NFL.

6) SF 49ers- Vernon Davis. this is my team. i swear, if they dont pick this guy, i am going to San Francisco and telling the management to kiss my ass. the team "screwed up" by winning their last two games, costing us Reggie Bush, so if they dont pick up Vernon Davis to give Alex Smith a target, then we will end picking this high in the draft every year for a while. Davis ran a 4.38 40 yard dash time and he is a TIGHT END. freaks of nature dont come around this often.

7) Oakland Raiders- Vince Young. Young to me is going to be an average guy. let's get real, he is a good athlete, but he isnt a good NFL QB. but the Raiders like guys like him, so, Vince will be a Raider.

8) Buffalo Bills- Winston Justice. Bills need help on the O-line and Justice should fill in nicely.

9) Detroit Lions- Michael Huff. no more 1st round wide receivers. the Lions need help defensively and a great athlete like Huff should fill in nicely.

10) Arizona Cardinals- Jay Cutler. Kurt Warner is on his last lucky legs, so the Cardinals need fresh meat. Cutler will fill in nicely and help make the Cardinals offense explosive.

this is about as much as i followed off the top of my head. i will edit my post later for the later picks in the 1st round....

I like this idea.

1) Texans - Mario Wiliams. Suprised me and as Michael Irvin said he better be getting 15 plus sacks a year.

***Reggie Bush goes 2nd doesnt matter who; Saints or anyone***

2) Saints - Reggie Bush. I like Deuce a lot but its Reggie Bush. They could get a 3rd or a 2nd round pick for Deuce (coming back from a injury and all).

3) Titans - Matt Leinart. A USC reunion.

4) Jets - Jay Cutler. New coach + new head office = new QB and Cutler is the most like Pennigton; drop back passer and with his injuries the jets need an insurance policy.

5) Packers - A J Hawk. A solid defensive pick and with Wiliams off the board he is the most solid defensive left.

6) 49ers - Vernon Davis. They need weapons, doesn't matter who is at QB they need someone to catch the ball and he can do that.

7) Raiders - Michael Huff. The Raiders defense (yes we have a defense) lost its best player in C Wood; who did everything, Huff is a similar sort of player. Plus with the jokes that the Raiders have at safety they NEED him. (To answer the bonus question - Marcus Vick will go to Oakland in the 4th round)

8) Bills - D Ferguson. A player like this slipping this far will get snapped up.

9) Lions - Haloti Ngata. New coach who had the talent the likes of Sapp and Rice in Tampa will love to have this kid alongside Rogers.

10) Cards - Vince Young. It will only take until round week 8 or 9 until the Cards will take flight on offense.

11) Rams - Jimmy Wiliams. A player which will be an upgrade to this secondary and help overall improve this defense.

12) Browns - Chad Greenway. Helps this defense and will learn from one of the best in Mcginist

13) Ravens - Winston Justice. To late for a QB but Justice will help this offense that forgot how to block last year.

14) Eagles - Santonio Holmes. They need a WR with T.O gone. Holmes should help fill the hole.

15) Broncos - Chad Jackson. There best WR is like 35 and after Smith there is no one. Jackson with his size help makes plays for this team.

16) Fins - Kamerion Wimbley. He will bring a solid pass rush form the LB position.

17) Vikings - Ernie Sims. A Solid LB that will help an improving defense unit.

18) Cowboys - Donte Whitner. A nice safety from Ohio State who will sit nicely alongside Roy Williams.

19) Chargers - Tye Hill. Hill will be the next 1st round CB for the Chargers trying to make an impact.

20) Chiefs - Kelly Jennings. The Chiefs will always need defense and Jennings will give this team some youth at CB.

21) Patriots - Manny Lawson. A nice player who could be a good fit as a olb in a 3-4 system.

22) 49ers - Mathias Kiwanuka. Solid pass rushing end.

23) Buccaneers - Eric Winston. Helps this o-line a lot and with not much WR talent left worth a 1st round pick, this is a safe way out.

24) Bengals - Ashton Youboty. Another corner back is a must for this team.

25) Giants - Ko Simpson. A safety to fill a hole.

26) Bears - Antonio Cromartie. A nice sized corner to fill a need at the second corner spot.

27) Panthers - Lendale White. The lack of a RB against Seattle cost them any chance. White will good sharing time with Foster.

28) Jaguars - Tamba Hali. A good defensive end to go with a great defensive line.

29) Jets - Sinorice Moss. Adding weapons now for Cutler.

30) Colts - DeAngelo Williams. The colts again are lucky to have a needed player fall into their laps.

31) Hawks - Jason Allen. Adds depth to the defensive backfield.

32) Steelers - Darnell Bing. Should take the whole left by Chris Hope.

Sorry I will change; Marcus Vick will go to Oakland in the 4th, they dont have a 5th rounder and I dont think they will wait for their 6th to come around.

Kust

Please check my Mock Draft, Ive made some changes.

Rob

With that Denver-Jets Trade I again had to edit my Mock Draft.
Take a look.

Rob

Funny enough mine stays the same just different team, Mathias Kiwanuka is a valuable pass rusher whether it 4-3 end or 3-4 backer and Denver now the 49ers need that.

Just a question which sports site opinions do you respect more; Foxsports or ESPN. I like both and it seems funny that ESPN see Young going to Oakland were FOX says Huff. While reading a recent article on Foxsports.com it seems like its a pissing match between them. Anyway really I just hope we pick one of the two.

Kust

Well its a huge pissing match between anything from fox and anything from the old guard of the big 3 (abc-owned by Disney which also owns ESPN-nbc or cbs)
I lean more toward ESPN though as they have more expierence although Fox Sports did break the TO to Dallas story before ESPN got whisper 1 of it, which really pissed of ESPN.
ESPN fought off CNNSI when it was a cable channel, and ESPN is just afraid that Fox Sports will do to ESPN what Fox News did to CNN, MSNBC, ABC News, CBS News, and NBC News. But again I honestly have ESPN bookmarked and watch every Sportscenter as well as Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN2 and every draft special on ESPN...I dont watch Fox Sports for anything.

Rob

No changes yet...but I will have a few changes tonight. There are a few FA moves I think might come today.

Rob

I was suprised that it took so long for Arrington to be taken. I like him as a player so I just hope going to N.Y is not just about playing the Redskins twice a year. In my opinion the Jags had more on the positive side to offer then the Giants and most probably a shot at a ring.

I think the longer it takes with C Wood the more hope I get that will come back to Oakland with his pride in check, then the secondary might be half decent.
CB - Woodson
CB - Washongton/Routt
S - Huff
S - Asomugha (this move was in the cards his like 6'1 215 and can hit, smart move Shell)

Kust

I think for the Raiders it comes down to 3 players. As a die hard fan I would be happy with any one of them.

- Michael Huff
- Vince Young
- Vernon Davis

Each of them are Mr Davis players - big, fast and strong.

Only a few more days to go.
