The death of legendary Toronto promoter Jack Tunney this past week was covered today in the Toronto Star.
Tunney, the longtime figurehead "President" of the WWF, died in his sleep of an apparent heart attack on Saturday.
While Tunney was best known internationally as the on-air WWF executive, he was an important and influential promoter in Toronto.

Longtime Colorado Indy wrestler Allen Carnill was killed on Sunday morning in a car accident near Hays, KS when the car he was riding in went out of control on black ice. Allen and Heavy Duty, Prodigy and Bossman Jr. had worked a show Hoisington, KS on Saturday night and were returning to Denver.
Details of the accident aren't known other than Allen was a passenger along with his girlfriend. Allen was 42 years old.
In recent years Carnill used the Beetlejuice gimmick to please the fans. He was old school and truly loved the business.
Rest in Peace, fellas....
You will truly be missed.
No silly Laz sayings this time around...

I'd never have guessed that in a million years. To be frank Doink looked a hell of a lot more polished than Lombardi ever did, and that squeaky voice is miles from his BB accent. Ta muchly for sharing man.
