6 Degrees of (Tickling) Separation: do we know any of the same people?

To preface this post, I want to say that when I'm talking about "people I know" or "people I've tickled" I'm not taking about any formal "tickling sessions" - I haven't done that and my tickling experiences have all been with "vanillas" or people that aren't into tickling in the way that people on this forum are (as far as I know). I also know many of you have actually met in person and do have mutual friends in the tickling community - but I think you'll get the gist of what I'm talking about as you read the post.

From time to time I think about the many many ticklers and ticklees on this board and whether we might know some of the same people. If I were facebook friends with some of you, for instance, what if we had a mutual friend or two? And what if that person was actually someone that one of us had tickled or seen tickled before - and the other had long-wondered whether (s)he was ticklish. There's no real way, short of becoming facebook friends, to know - but to me it's such an intriguing question, especially since I've always loved real-life stories, and because sometimes people I know have taken on a sort of celebrity-level quality in terms of wanting to know if they're ticklish (or wanting to see their feet, for that matter, for me) - and in some cases, finally finding out.

I also have thought about this one: what if we've actually unknowingly had tickling experiences with the same person? What if you're actually dating someone right now that I happened to have tickled in, say, high school or college.....or vice versa. And what if (if you're like me and you love true stories), the person your dating has actually told you a true tickling story from her past and the tickler was actually me - or someone else from the forum. It's not inconceivable that - as "mainstream" as tickling is - that someone's previous experiences being tickled could have come at the hands of a 'ler.....and if so, there's a decent chance that person is on this board.

Just some food for thought 🙂 Curious if anyone has any further thoughts or comments.

This is a very interesting thought; my wife has told me about experiences in her past with people who were undeniably indulging a tickle fetish, and I've often wondered if those people were members here. It stands to reason.

Another example, which may be more realistic (and intriguing):

You have a gorgeous co-worker and have wondered from the day you met if she is ticklish. Turns out, she happens to be a friend of mine (say one of these two ladies) and is someone I had the opportunity to tickle extensively quite a few times.

Or better yet, this co-worker is an ex of mine, like this person or this person, about whom I happen to have an abundance of tickling stories.

Entirely possible, right? Wouldn't it be amazing if there was some way of knowing?

I'm positive that out of all the people TMFers come across who are technically vanilla but love tickling, some of them must go on to be TMF members and never know that their introduction to tickling was from another member...there's simply too many of us for that to never happen.

YNK175,.... the possibility you are suggesting is, I believe, a virtual certainty. Thanks to cyber communication,.... thanks to NEST,... and with 6 whole degrees of mathematical expansion to work with,.... I don't think there can be a lot of doubt. We are all connected by the 6 degree rule. For example, I've never been to a NEST get-together, but I know three people who have been to multiple gatherings,....so by the very second degree of the rule, I'm connected to ... what? ... hundreds,.... by the 4th degree of the permutation, the numbers are in the hundreds of thousands,.... and that is starting with only three people. I know a lot more people than that,... and my "connections" reach back into the 80's,.... A virtual certainty,... believe me. If the 6 degree rule was a virus, we all would have it.
