80's cartoon nostalgia: G.I. Joe

Ahhh, nostalgia... If you were a kid back then, I challenge you to try holding your tears when watching this. Why don't they make cartoons like this anymore?

The comment section is really funny to read too. Here are a few excerpts:

My father hated that show. He kept getting mad, seeing the heroes get hit by lasers and then get right back up as if nothing happened (or never get hit by a weapon at all). He felt is was disrespectful to veterans (especially veterans that suffer injuries) and that it painted a completely unrealistic view of war and service in the military.

When I look back on the 80's G.I. Joe, it looks way to much like pro-USA military propaganda to me. The fact that the main enemy was Cobra, a terrorist organization named after a desert snake found in Africa and the Middle East doesn't help it's case.
