They aren't saying what exactly happened, but most of us already know. She didn't just wander off on her own. Very pretty girl.

This is only speculation but all the stink seems to be rising from this POS:

David Spears is the stepfather of the missing Rowan Ford, 9. In the six days since she disappeared questions surrounding what happened that night have been asked, but he is only now speaking to the media.

David Spears was asked point blank if he had anything to do with Rowan's disappearance. He says no, but admits to leaving her alone, which he says he will forever be sorry for.

He says he left Rowan at home Friday night, but has no idea who could have taken her or what might have happened to her.

Yeah, this was just on our news, seeing as how it's a local incident and I only live like 2 hours or so from where it happened. Anyway, they questioned the step-father and say they have a suspect, but they didn't release any names tonight. When asked if it was the step-father the sheriff countered with a no comment, but I don't think it is the step-father. I mean he seemed highly torn up about it, unless of course he's a grade A actor. Anyway, I think tomorrow they're going to release a suspect name, but I'm not for sure on that. It was strange though how they found her. I mean, it was in a sink-hole that led into a cave, so I'm quite suspicious of this whole thing. Either way, it's a very sad story.

I mean it's horrible that a 9 year old girl died and all...but what really gets me is the kind of person that kills a child for no reason. I mean, who knows what other horrors this girl faced during the kid-napping. I mean is there really any reason for this...no, not at all. Some sicko just trying to get his kicks. Update on Murder in MO

It was the Step-dad. I only hope justice is swift...

Authorities identify the two men accused of raping and killing Rowan Ford, 9, who was found Friday morning. By Friday night, the sheriff's departments had two men in custody, including her stepfather. Newton County Sheriff Ken Copeland said both men have confessed to the crimes committed.

The men arrested:

* David Spears, 24, from Stella, Missouri
* Christopher Leroy Collings, 32, of Wheaton, Missouri

The charges against both men:

* First degree murder
* Forcible rape
* Statutory rape in the first degree

There would be no death penalty for him, in my opinion that is too generous. If he got life, well...you know the status of sex offenders in the showers....

My sympathies go out to the young girl and her family, may she go with God. I am also concerened by the sheer violence shown by many of the members. These men (If it is indeed them) have committed an evil act but I think the manner of the punishment should be left to the courts. I find it worrying when people start proposing that they should be raped for the rest of their lives.
