My friend has a bet with me and I keep telling her that the eagles did NOT sing sweet home alabama ... and that it was lynard skynard. We are not looking on the internet cause I know I'm right. I told her that 3 members of the band died in 1977 on the plane and woops there she goes again saying differently. God how I wish she knew I was into tickling cause I sware I would have one of you do it!

You are right on both counts here.I don't know how old you and your friend are,but i was around in those days.

you are definitely right. and i loved Lyndryd Skyndrd..

Sweet Home, Alabama was written in retaliation for a song by Neil Young called "Southern Man", or something similar..

You are indeed correct! Although The Eagles out-rock Lynard Skynard any day of the week in my humble opinion :xpulcy:

You win the bet! I was around back then too.

I'm a Skynyrd fan.

Gimmie 3 Steps... boy can I relate to that one!
The Ballad of Curtis Lowe. Lotta heart in that song.

Southern rock - terrific stuff! Need convincing? - just listen to 38 Special some evening.

heh I dunno about that 🙂 I've always been a fan of British progressive rock (Jethro Tull, Supertramp) myself.

Although Stevie Ray Vaugen does indeed kick some serious ass 😀

"Sweet Home Alabama" --Lynyrd Skynyrd. 'Nuff said.

...your friend needs to uh...brush up a little....

The third one was guitarist Steve Gaines........Cassie's brother.

Jethro Tull is one of my favorite groups. Great stuff! (Suptertramp is great too.) But to me, southern rock is a different genre altogether.
