Well, I used to share residence with two cats. Their names were Absalom and Lazarus. I'm betting those aren't in the top ten.

Astonishing! I have never met a cat named Max in my life. Plenty of dogs. One horse. No cats. Oh, well...I am pretty much out on the fringe of civilization, after all.
My own cats since childhood have been Nosey, Dromio, Morris, Graymalkin, Archie Goodwin, Puddnhead, Sugar, and Emmeline Grangerford. My current little waste of oxygen is named Loki, but he's usually addressed fondly as GetoutfromundermyfeetFuzzbutt.

I had three cats while I was growing up... all named Puddy. As in Tweetie Bird and "Puddy Tat?"

And Ignatz... my dog is named Loki!
