Seriously though, it's so people know it's a little more important to read than your usual posts, and in case they think they already have all the info they need about a particular topic they know this one has something new or different and they should definitely open the post :fish:.
 
I would suggest that the point of any one posting or starting a new thread is that they wish other posters to read them. Following the above logic, should I entitle all my posts "dont read"?

Also, surely its entirely a matter of opinion as to whether a particular post is "a little more important" than other posts? and in order to make such a differentiation, you will have to read other posts not marked "please read" in order to make a judgement.

Therefore it might be best for us all to mark our posts "please read" to make sure our posts get read, but then of course that would be self defeating. So if it makes no sense to mark your post "please read" to make it stand out from others, or to mark all posts "please read" then perhaps it better not to mark any post "please read" and let the post stand or fall on the quality of its contents?

Or, maybe I need to get out more?

And what's with those posts that people say "Check this out" or "Too cool", or whatever - and it's just a video link, no description? No hint? No tittilation of suspense? Nothing but blue highlighted letters?
