i'm sure some of you have had some problems with spyware and i have been dealing with it a lot lately. i have spybot, spyhunter, spyware blaster and a new adware program that seems to work fine. however, and believe me, this is my 3rd attempt, why does my computer freeze up when i am typing text? i will write, then the computer freezes up. i have to start all over. as an author of tickling fiction, it is important for me to type for a long period of time. does anyone know why this keeps happening to me? is it spyware? how can i fix it? otherwise, it may be a while before i can write another story. thanks.

I doubt that's a spyware problem.
What program are you using for a text editor ?

I also have doubts that its spyware by the sounds of things it is likely a virus/trojan.

If its word I have had a similar problem in the past, when it first started to happen I uninstalled then reinstalled office, it was a temporary fix but the problem reoccurred I then invested in Norton anti-virus and it found either a virus or trojan (sorry I can't remember which it was a while ago), but it fixed the problem and I have had no hassles since 🙂

Try this: http://download.mcafee.com/us/eval/evaluate2.asp?cid=9445

if it works it should link to trial software from mcafee and you can use a virus scanner.

Another thing to try, if you're running windows, is to press the key F8 while the computer is booting up -- a few seconds before it shows the windows load up screen (I usually just press the key a whole bunch of times and hope windows catches it.) From there you should be able to boot into safe mode, which loads almost bare-bone windows. Some trojans etc. won't show up in safe mode as I recall.

Sounds like a virus. I have figured out though that computers suck. I just fixed mine for viruses and its now sucking again.
