A question for NEST veterens

I'm going to NEST for the first time this year. 😀 Since i will be flying,i would like to know what others do about bringing cuff's etc in your luggage. What kind of reaction do you get when they look through your bags?Or should i even worry about bringing stuff like that? Any advice would be much appreciated. 😀

LOL, thats a great question.
A friend of mine is working at airport securities in my hometown. He is one of those guys who look through your handluggage at check in. I'll ask him what he would do, if he discovered a pair of cuffs in a passengers bag. I can already imagine his face when I'm going to ask him that question 😀

I've always traveled there via Amtrak, and they generally don't search your bags.

Well, I'm not going to NEST, but I've traveled with a fair ammount of bizarre shit in my luggage. Just put your stuff in your regular bags, not your carry-on. Nobody'll care.

Yeah, I've got one as well. Just put whatever you bring in your stow-away luggage. I have no statistics to back me up on this, but I'm willing to bet bringing things like this with you on flights are not exactly unusual.

All of us should just rent a Fair or something. Instead of rides is a plethra of tickle torure devices- stocks, hanging upside down devices etc. Every kind of device. Then, when it's over- put everything in storage for next year. :bouncybou

(I can imagine the haunted house now... muahahahaha....) :evilha:

Actually there will be equipment at the venue we use, but it is always nice to have a few things of your own in case the need arises, Tracy and I drive, so we have no fears as to what we bring.....

yeah it gets interesting when all you have is carry on luggage

i've brought some extra old silk ties that can be put to good use...just nothing too elaborate in terms of bondage gear... I know ,I know i'm a chicken shit 🙂

I never check bags, because I've:

1) had a bag end up on a different flight than I was
2) have had friends who have had things stolen out of their locked luggage.

I've carried a variety of s/m gear, floggers, whips,
restraints, cuffs, etc, through security after 9/11 (but
admitedly before they started getting really restrictive
about things like hand lotion and nail clippers) and
even though my bags were opened and looked at,
I think the people checking my bags (an older man and
a younger woman) were more embarassed than I was.
The whole thing took about 2 minutes, and I didn't have
to wait and worry at the baggage checkout.

That being said, I always drive to NEST, and occasionally
am carrying stocks in the back of my car. I've also never
been stopped by the police on these trips, so I don't know
if they would give me more of a hassle than the airlines.

I wish driving was an option, but its a long distance from K.C. to Philly.I have no choice but to fly.I think i will pack what i need in my non carry on bag,and take my chances. If i am emberessed,it wont be the first time that ever happend.

A couple of years ago I had a pair of hand-cuffs in my carry on bag from Tampa Int'l Airport going to New York City.
Well, they pulled out the hand-cuffs in front everyone & asked if I was in law enforcement. I told them no. They asked me why I was carrying the hand-cuffs. I told them it was for a private meeting. Well, they said that I had to put this in my luggage. I already checked my luggage & I just didn't want that whole hassle. Besides it was close to boarding time. So I just told them to keep it, that I can always buy another pair in New York City. They kept it.
Then I had my 'Bag O' Tricks' (A small fishing tackle box filled with feathers, brushes & leather restraints) in my luggage & was never stopped or anything.

I'm not bringing anything to Philly but I plan to partronize some of our members booths. I may buy a little knick-knack or three.

There are also fetish shops nearby, one of which always helps us out with prizes, etc. We'll be letting people know in their welcome packets about where they can pick things up.

Putting things in checked baggage is a slight risk for having it lost or stolen. Doing anything that can be used to restrain another is NOT recommended for carry-ons. You won't get to take it with you, since it's a security risk. So, if you do bring stuff, putting it in the checked bags is your safest bet.

Do keep in mind that there are plenty of folks driving who will be bringing stuff. Most of us are willing to share our goodies. So, you'll find what you need somewhere if you don't bring it with you. 😉

hello

I work for an airline, and I can tell ya I don't think they will let ya bring the cuffs on board, maybe in the checked bags

I have worked in the airline industry for 7 years now, and,LOL, I have never seen anyone bring handcuffs in their carryon or checked bags. That is the first for me, however, I have heard females have brought vibrators. LOL
Good Luck man.

well, just having got home from Michigan,i csan tell you that i took alot of goodies on my trip .You will be fine if you don't keep that stuff in your carry-on.

Flying with naughty stuff

Put it in your checked baggage. Kitten and I fly internationally, so Customs sometimes checks the stuff anyway, unlike you lucky USof A-ers who will be on internal flights.

We just bluff it out- it's not illegal, after all. and once going to Jamaica, the female customs official asked what was in the toybag- and I began such a gloatingly elaborate explanation that she just shrieked ' I doan' wan' to know!! Jus' have a happy holiday!!'

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and comments.I dont think i'll have a problem bringing what i have in mind afterall.
