A Shoe Question for the Feet People

So I figured out something after it was a bit too late. My feet don't like many regular shoes. My problem is, shoes don't allow my toes to splay for stability, and if they do the heel of the shoe is WAY too big, so I just come out even with them tied and with socks on. Does anybody have any recommendations for shoes that are wide at the toe and narrow as hell at the heel? And I'm on a part-time budget, but I can save up if I need to. I'm tired of injuring myself by just walking. All the foot doodads and whozawhatsits are there to do a job and when they can't I get screwed. I considered a barefoot shoe for a WHILE but since they look silly I feel like they'd be workplace disruptive. Ugh. I really appreciate anything you can give me, since even though I'm a decent googler I have no idea where to start.

Sorry to give you some bad news. I have a friend in Los Angeles who has size 6 feet, narrow at the heel and wide at the toes. She has never found shoes that give her toes enough room and also don't slip off her heels. Eventually she reached a high enough salary to have shoes custom made.
