A somewhat stupid question regarding posting

Every so often, I see people pasting responses of other people into their responses. There are times I would love to do this, but being the computer illiterate that I am, I can't figure out how to do it. I'll attach my picture here... 😕 (and aren't you glad it wasn't a NUDE picture?)
Can someone give me the Reader's Digest version of how to do this? Thanks in advance!

HBGB.....TO copy part or all of what someone else says, just hit the QUOTE button on their post. It will pop up a reply window with what they said included in it. If you only want to quote part of it, just eliminate the part(s) you don't want. Then, go ahead and respond below it. There will be coding at the beginning and end of it. Leave that in place.
