Entry No. 01
Our expedition into the unknown realm has begun. Upon entrance, we are already surrounded by species of plants and creatures that have remained undocumented by any historian. Large reptiles and mammals traversing the land, all living in their circle of life. Our priority will be to set up a home base and forage for supplies. Our current stock won’t last forever.

Entry No. 02
Finding a suitable place to set up a semi-permanent base has proved more difficult than previously anticipated. The creatures we have encountered thus far have hampered our progress. Tomorrow we are moving onto a clifftop, away from some of the more hostile species. Thankfully there is an abundance of edible species of plant to sustain the group for the foreseeable future.

Entry No. 03
Some time has passed, the base has been established, and research has begun. It is extraordinary the adaptability of these creatures. Each group moves in harmony with each other, creating the perfect ecosystem. Some of the creatures are quite similar to known fossil records researched on earth. Our team is questioning whether these beings are somehow related. There are several insects that have similarity to insects on earth, mirroring habits and behaviors even.
One species is quite like the honeybee. This species of bee appears to be passive, with only certain members of the hives having stingers. There is one noticeable difference, these bees are covered in hexagonal scales. The remaining workers appear to be unable to harm, and their sole purpose is to produce and maintain. Experimenting with some tests, they can bite in defense, but the venom they excrete has no pain. The bite creates a tingling feeling, which appears to affect the nerves directly. There are no signs of permanent damage or affects from this, however. Additionally, these workers appear to have a unique ability to hold onto any surface. Looking at them further, the scales on their bodies are covered in furs like a spider. Their legs also appear to have hooked appendages at their ends, allowing them to move with ease over any surface.

Entry No. 04
How astounding!! The substance the species we have named the Hex Scaled Honeybee, is almost equal to the honey of the normal honeybee. The difference being its physical properties. It appears to flow with great ease and will remain liquid at most temperatures above freezing. The fascinating thing is its adverse reaction when coming into contact with the oil secreted by the human body. The substance changes from a flowing substance into a thick substance that can hold shape without fail. The longevity and abilities of this new substance have yet to be tested.
Additionally, the worker bees don’t seem to be affected by the difference in viscosity. They are still able to move through it with ease and even appear to negate the solid effects. They are quick and almost appear to swim through the substance.

Dr. Steward walked through the underbrush, careful not to disturb the plant life around her. The terrain around was lit by large, natural crystals embedded deep in the cavern ceiling above. Inspired by the recent leaps and bounds in research done in the previous weeks, Dr. Steward was ready and enthusiastic to continue gathering specimens of the world around her. Moving towards the new research site they had marked on the GPS, she observed the wildlife moving in the distance, admiring all of the diversity within each species.

Out of the corner of her eye, Dr. Steward observed a medium-sized 6-legged creature, covered in short light brown fur and a long, slender tail. Its head was like a wolf, with pointed ears and a slender snout. It looked at her and bounded into the distance. Fascinated by its movement, Dr. Steward followed, wanting to observe this creature’s beauty more. Walking over a small rise the creature had moved, Dr. Steward had lost the trail. Sighing in disappointment, she turned around to realize she had gone quite far off the marked trail. Opening her GPS, she saw that the site was nearby and noticed that the closest way was through a section of undocumented terrain. Pondering her options, she opted to take a small risk and take a shortcut. Moving through the terrain, she weaved around the plant life, doing her best not to leave a trace that she was there.

Focusing on her movement, Dr. Steward hardly noticed anything around her. So, when another animal jumped out in front of her, startled, Dr. Steward jumped backwards and tripped over a rock on the ground. Falling backward, she fell hard, and the terrain cracked beneath her. Falling into a shallow hole, she quicky felt her clothing get soft with moisture. Looking around her, she was surrounded by a yellow-orange substance. Realizing what was happening, she observed that she had possibly stumbled into a hive of Hex-scaled Honeybees. Looking above her proved her suspicion as the small creatures buzzed around, performing their various tasks, appearing completely undisturbed. Trying to move, Dr. Steward realized that the honey had become thick around her body, causing her struggles to be in vain. Looking around, she saw her GPS laying on the ground, the distress feature flashing. After she dropped it during her fall, it would have automatically activated and would alert her team to her location.

All that could be done is wait at this point, since attempting to free herself would only result in sapping her energy further. Only hoping her team would be on their way as soon as they heard the call. Observing the melodic buzzing of the hive, she noticed they would move in patterns around the sky. It appeared quite satisfying to watch in the moment. After a second there were a few that landed on the pool of honey. Identifying these as workers, Dr. Steward knew she was safe, as they wouldn’t attack. Watching them move along the surface, they began diving into the pool, heading towards her in circular swimming motions. Curios about their intent, Dr. Steward watched with great interest as they got closer. Reaching her clothing, they landed and crawled against the rough fabric, like ants looking for something to bring back to the nest. Reaching a small section of skin against her arm, it moved onto it, causing an itchy, tingly feeling that Dr. Steward couldn’t reach. Twitching slightly, she felt the feeling turn into a tickly feeling as the insect moved further up her arm. She cringed slightly as it moved slowly over her skin, and as soon as the sensation began, it went away. Looking down, Dr. Steward saw the bee swimming towards the surface and flew quickly away.

Seeing it move out of sight, she wondered how long it had been. It could have only been minutes, but time felt like it was dragging on. The seconds turned into minutes, and Dr. Steward wondered what was taking her team so long to find her. As she pondered this, several bees descended onto the sticky pool of liquid and moved under the surface. They moved onto her body and began searching, but for what? What was their intent here? These questions ran through Dr. Steward’s head as they moved along her clothing. Suddenly, Dr. Steward let out a short gasp. One of the bees had managed to go under her tight shirt and was working its way along her toned stomach. The sensation caused Dr. Steward to release an involuntary, but soft giggle. She remembered during their research that these bees had unusual abilities to grip surfaces, and that was working against her at this moment.

Trooping on, the bee continued to move underneath her clothing, causing Dr. Steward to shiver and twitch in the liquid that encapsulated her body. As if called, the remaining bees moved towards the same spot as the mischievous bee that had first entered its tickly domain. They all went down and found the same spot and entered. Feeling all their little legs crawling against her midsection sent Dr. Steward into a frenzied state, laughing as they crawled against the smooth skin. Working their way under the clothing, Dr. Steward could do nothing but laugh, unable to move, unable to resist. They worked their way around her midsection and began moving further up her body. As they reached her chest, she felt them crawl over her ribs and thrashed with hearty laughter as they crawled over the ridges. As the bees continued moving over her sensitive body, Dr. Steward started gasping and was having trouble breathing as she continued laughing uncontrollably.

In the distance, a voice shouted out over her laughing. Hearing this, Dr. Steward yelled with a quick breath in between her tormenting. Quickly, footsteps approached and she felt someone take hold of her and slowly pulled her from the viscous liquid. Still giggling and laughing, she was pulled onto solid ground and fought to take her shirt off and remove the bees that were causing her torment. Tearing it off, she quickly brushed away the remaining bees and curled up slightly, trying to stop the remaining tickling sensation that continued to plague her. As she calmed down, she saw her rescuers standing and staring at her, a little bit bewildered.

“So… you found yourself in a… sticky situation…” the man told Dr. Steward in a teasing voice.

Dr. Steward, still recovering, shot him a dirty glance. “How about you help me up and lets just get back to base. I’m done exploring today”.

The woman reached down and offered Dr. Steward a hand, which was accepted, and they stood up. Quickly reaching around, the woman gave Dr. Steward a quick squeeze on her now bare side, causing a squeal to escape from her lips.

“Hey! Knock that off!” Dr. Steward said, jumping and twisting away from the sudden attack.

“Sorry sis, I can’t help it” the woman spoke with a bright tone. “We did find out some new facts on these guys while you were out, but you seem to have found them out also, though your research methods seem a bit experimental” she said with a quick devious smile. “It turns out, the reaction that causes the hardening of the honey is the result of a pheromone in the sweat, and that attracts the bees”.

They started walking back towards the trail, careful not to disturb any more creatures they could have come across. The woman spoke again, “You know, we could use more research data, you think you could do that again? For scientific research?”

“How about you take a shot at it and see how you like it?” Dr. Steward reproached, blushing slightly at the thought.

“But you seemed to have so much fun, you were laughing loud enough we heard you from quarter of a mile out” she teased.

“So much fun huh? Maybe I’ll push you into the stuff and watch you do nothing but take it…” Dr. Steward moved slightly towards her in a threatening manner.

Leaping away, she playfully looked back, “Well, I’ll leave it alone… for now”. Winking at Dr. Steward as the party moved on the trail towards the base in the distance.

Fine story! :tickle:
You could write a sequel in which the research team selects a "volunteer" to lie naked in the hive and be observed for a full day.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed! 😊
That would be absolutely devious and fun to write about. I just might have to write it in the near future.
