A Suggestion to help us Search

I have a suggestion for the Search function. We can look up Members in the Members list but we can't narrow the list down by geographic location or gender.

let's say, for example, I want to see all the registered people who are Females and around Toronto. It would be great if we can type in Toronto, and fFmale, and all the lists would show all females around Toronto.

When you register there is a section that asks for your gender and geographic location.

Is there a way the Search function could be made to just pull up by location or gender? Like a way to bring up all the registered females on here? I'm sure there would be hundreds but it's a start, eh?

Very tough one, to search by location. The only possible way I can see it working without serious complicated programming is to match the field exactly but then it would leave no room for misspellings or variations.

Damn fine idea though.

Yeah , the members search funtion should allow to search not just for a specific member , but also to narrow the list down to a specific group of members .

There could be pre-set locations....

But that would annihilate the fun of free-scripted individual replies 😛

unless those "pre-set locations" were to be a separate listing
solely for the purpose of a search by (location and/or any other fields)
in addition to the existing location slot in which we may write whatever we wish...

Perhaps the specific preset locations wouldn't be set to appear in the signatures
so those who'd like to be part of that search may be
without *completely compromising privacy though of course they'd be revealed, just not with every post they make, the searcher would have to stumble upon them...

(and the combination of 2 location fields would probably be twice as difficult & annoying to accomplish 🙄 )

Maybe a choice? Those who'd like to be found can use a pre-set?
(One or the other, not both in any one profile?)

Or just eliminate the free-response listing of locations entirely....
and give less specific options such as "country" or "continent" or "hemisphere" for those who'd prefer not to disclose location... 😀

But again, that'd be less interesting than filling in the blanks ourselves I'm looping, pardon me....

Its what the personals\gatherings\etc sections are for and separated into geo locations. If people want to be found and are interested, theyd possibly post there or just notice from your posts your location
