About the Login Section

I'm curious. When logging in, there is a checkbox with the question, "Remember Me?"

What does this refer to? I had thought it must mean that we log in permanently if we choose to do so, but I guess not. When I retrurn to the site after a while, I have to log in all over again.

Your browser may not accept the cookie...
Or your IP address may change frequently so the site doesnt recognize you when you come back.
or something.

Nessles be correct. A cookie is created by checking that box that is supposed to remain in your cache even when your browser is closed and then subsequently reopened. The cookie keeps you logged in. It can, however, be invalidated by a change in your IP Address or by using a different browser since cookies do not travel between browsers as far as I know. You may have your cache set small and thus it fills up and the cookie is deleted or perhaps you have your system set to delete cookies after a set amount of time. Regardless, cookies are not permanant. I've had some last for months, but inevitably I have to re-login.

The only times I've ever had to log in here were after switching browsers or the two or three times my modem has been reset.
Oh my...I just checked my IP history...
The nnumbers represent the number of posts I've made from each IP addy.
When did I pass 9000 posts? *sigh* I need a new account... Dammit, Alex, post more! You used to be ahead of me. WAY ahead of me. >=[

Indeed. If you do not refresh your modem, your IP will remain the same (Usually and provided that you don't have a router after it, in which case you'll be assigned a second IP, sort of.).
