RIP, Ossie.

He was fabulous in the remake of "12 Angry Men."

A Before-His-Time class act. I love watching him in the Christmas special done by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Ossie was a fine actor, with a long body of excellent work. Rest in Peace, Ossie, you will be missed. You were one of a kind.

Ossie Davis was a treasure. I would have loved to have met him...

I remember, after having watched "Do The Right Thing" fifteen or so years ago, feeling that the movie left far more questions than it had answered. However, there was no question about the performance of Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee. It was sublime. See the film, folks, if you haven't seen it already...you'll witness what I'm talking about.

Spike Lee's characters are usually drawn very well, it's his strongest point (as opposed to his convoluted plots). Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee took it to the next level.

Man, a lot of people died today...

News of this passing really broke my heart. He was a consumate versitile actor and Ruby Dee is no slouch herself. She's very diverse in her talents-not long ago she was on Def Jam Poets with a poetry slam on Tupac that left my head spinning! They were political activists who faught for many causes. I'm glad they got there due with the Kennedy Center Honors before he died. I believe in giving people their flowers while they're still here to enjoy them. I feel sorry for Ruby Dee now that she has to go on without her Ossie. You just don't see couples staying married that many years anymore.

He will be sorely missed..........:dropatear

Just what questions were you talking about?? Good movie, btw

Ossie was an example of what an actor should be. I only wish today's actor's could've learned from him

Knox;

I'm really not sure what you're talking about when you talk about more questions than answers, and Spike Lee's movies having convoluted plots. Maybe you can PM me sometime and we can have a discussion about these statements. I think I know what you're saying, but since I'm not sure I'm not going to use this thread to pubically work it out.

The one thing we agree upon is that Ossie Davis gave an outstanding performance in this film. I believe that he performed just as outstanding as any film he played a part in.

I look forward to the opportunity......
