dating back to the first part of your topic, its not so much that God doesnt like homosexuality, but that the church refuses to marry homosexuals, and that sex is referred to as "Gods gift to a married couple." im sure that if the vatican or any other church for that matter allowed gay weddings, God wouldnt have a problem with it.

My apologies, Vlad, but you're only 99.9% correct. The Church (at least, the Catholic one) DOES care about certain acts of foreplay. Bondage, for instance, is forbidden because the tying up of a human is like lowering said human to the point of being an animal or somesuch. Torture, in any capacity, is likewise forbidden, as it is said to make both the tortured and the torturer less human (through both the act and the process), so I assume this fetish's preoccupation with torture, no matter how playful, is looked down upon in some regard. There's also the issue of contraception (which is more involved with the act itself than this particular fetish) and various other things...at least, that's the way it was last time I heard.

But, yeah, he's mostly got it right from the whole "God" perspective. Also, you've got to take into account the difference between "God's will" and "man's interpretation of God's will." We can never fully or truly know what God is thinking, because He's God, and we're not. *shrugs*

Do I think that God looks down on this fetish? Not unless it is used in a malicious manner, same with everything else on this earth.

Um...well, that's the logical extension of "God wants you to do what makes you happy." You've also pointed out the flaw in that philosophy...

Though technically we really can't know if God would let someone such as Hitler into Heaven (I assume God would NOT allow him access, but I'm not God), I think what was meant by Chameleon is thhat God wants you to do those things that make you happy--and harm no one else.

To answer the original question, each denomination would have a different opinion on whether or not a paraphilia like tickling is a "sin." Some would have no problem with it whatsoever, while others might view it as sinful because it provokes lust or is not procreative. Individual clergy within the same denomination might differ as well, depending on how much they were influenced by classical psychology or various scriptural interpretations.

Personally, I don't think that paraphilias are sinful as long as they are not performed for malicious purposes or in a harmful manner. I think that the conventional notion of orthogenital intercourse as the lone standard of sexual normalcy is unrealistic and causes needless guilt and condemnation.

Actually, some versions of those old texts promote that but not all. Take the Saudi Arabian version of the Holy Qu'ran for instance. In it it has so many slanderous verses on women. No rights for them whatsoever. But in the other versions, there is no such thing. As it should be.

To answer your original question, would God disapprove of our fetish, I don't think so. Of course I can't be 100% positive. First, there is no specific reference in the Bible against practicing our fetish, unlike very clear-cut references that homosexual acts are an "abomination". Second, our fetish just amounts to harmless fun, and there are references in the Bible that say that life is a great gift that should be enjoyed to the fullest, as long as we don't do anything to harm another person. Of course it is the job of religion to help us to find God's will. God being infinitely smarter then we are, and having the ability to see into the future, and given that He only wants the best for His beloved children, if we only followed His will more, and our will less, then our lives would all be so much better off...

Moderation is great, but it's a faulty concept for two reasons. First, the universe itself is polarized. Everything has an opposite, including human action, emotion, and morality. So, no matter how far towards the middle you are, you will always be on one side or the other. Second, without vice and love there is only apathy...and apathy by its very nature solves nothing. Besides, can true apathy even really exist in creatures whose very natures are comprised of both vice and love? I tend to think not.
