It's a decommissioned aircraft carrier (built 1942-45, decomissioned in 2001), and the current bid is around 90 million US$. Proposed use: Tourist attraction, amusement park, floating hotel for 1300 guests...

That Carrier...

Is the Minas Gerais. It's a former British Carrier (HMS Vengeance) currently owned by Brazil.
It's still considewred a battleworthy carrier. You'd need to underwrite the cost of disarming it, AND for envirnomentally disabling it. Net cost would be about 250 million and that's before you would be allowed to move it.

Also, someone pulled a hell of a good joke because so far as the Brazilian Government knows, she's not for sale.

A couple of years ago, I ran across a similar thing. A used underground missile base. Three silos (empty, of course), the usual underground tunnels and rooms, and a two ton main sliding door. Plenty of outdoor space with high fence topped with barbed wire. Only $100,000. How I wept when the bank said no to my loan.....
