Amateur Bondage

A tickle partner and I have just started getting into the bondage tickling thing... Only thing is, we don't have official bondage gear and we're not exactly the kind of people, if you know what I mean, to go to an adult store...

We thought about ordering from the net, but other people live there who we'd rather not know about it, and that could be sketchy too...

Our current setup is shoe strings with socks (for padding) for the wrists and belts tied in knots for the feet. Her bed has 4 bed posts, so we just need 2 of each.

Just curious if anyone else has amateur setups such as this one for similar or maybe compltely different reasons, and what they consist of and how well they work.

My only complaint about them is that they are really easy to get off if you cuff them onto someone like traditional cuffs because their hands can get at the adjacent hands velcro straps and unstrap them.

Used for something like a spread eagle though, they are great. Easy to get on, and easy to take off in case of an emergency. They're pretty comfy too.

2 pairs of these, some rope, and you're set.

Do you have a PetSmart or other pet store with equine gear around you? I have found some gear that is ultra comfy when my ler worked there. the metal is kind noisy if you have roomates but it is the inconspiquous way of getting restraints. Pretend you have a stallion that needs restraining! It may be a lie but may not bee far from the truth!

hit up any decent hardware store or Wal-Mart for some rope. don't get the super-slick nylon crap, or anything too thin.

on another note: almost anything you order from the internet that is adult-oriented is normally in nondescript packaging, so you should be safe there. in any case, any bondage shop should have an FAQ page on their website, so find out for sure if they ship that way.

Just a note: I use slick nylon rope a lot. Works fine for most ties. You do want to avoid thin stuff, but 6mm (1/4") isn't too thin if you know what you're about.

Companies like www.blowfish.com and www.sub-shop.com use very plain, discreet packaging. Unless your housemates open your mail they'd never have to know.

If you want to use a system like that then I'd recommend tearing strips from an old bedsheet. You can tie them directly around the wrists and ankles or tie silk scarves (~$5 each at thrift stores) around the limbs and thread the sheet-strips through those. Seriously, though, cuffs are best for that kind of very simple bondage.

Personally I usually use rope. Basic rope bondage is very easy to learn. Snag a copy of "The Erotic Bondage Handbook" by Jay Wiseman and go from there.

never cared much for the super slick nylon rope. the stuff that feels like plastic. the first time i was tied with it my skin was rubbed raw and the knots kept slipping. now, other nylon ropes work, but the slick stuff can hurt.


i really don't have much of a set-up. just coils of various types of rope in different lengths/thickness, 2 pairs of velcro cuffs, and some bondage tape (which is fun stuff!!). however, i am working on making/modifying my own bondage frames, which can be a neat project.

Wow, what a thread - first of all, I will go right down to Spencer's today to get a few sets of those cuffs - I do bachelorette parties where I bring two or three sets of leather restraints for hog-tied tickle sessions, on-the-table and on-the-bed spreadeagle sessions, etc - but with 10 to 15 women attending, it might be nice to have a few sets of these to let the ones not getting a session play with. Then, the last post links to a thorough user guide of rope bondage - I have long wanted to learn that.

Hmm. I'm not sure how you're separating "super slick" nylon from other sorts. All synthetic fiber rope is fairly slippery.

However there's a good rule of thumb that gets around all of this: don't buy rope without feeling it first. If you don't like the feel, then don't buy it, no matter what it's made of. The only exceptions I make for this are a couple of companies that make rope specifically for bondage: www.rainbowrope.com and www.twistedmonk.com (for polypropylene and hemp rope respectively). They know what bondage rope should feel like, so I don't hesitate to mail-order from them.

I've used robe sashes in a pinch before, or neckties. Those can work well as a light bondage substitute. If you're wanting something that can stand up to serious thrashing though, rope is your best bet.

What type of people do you think go to adult stores. All sorts of people do. Are you so high on yourself that you think it's beneath you. If you are worried about someone you know seeing you go in or out of the shop then go to one in another town. Man did that line ever piss me off.
