Im sitting here watching the show in disbelief at some of these pathetic idiots that actually think they have the slightest bit of talent. are people really this delusional in this country? these people are so sad, i cant even give them a little credit for having the courage to humiliate themselves on national tv.

It's only going to get worse. With the unexplained popularity of William Hung I feel this show started it's own demise. No longer is the show an outlet for aspiring talent, it's now become an outlet for any untalented waste of time looking for 15 mins of fame.

Im with you Celtic...Simon IS the show in my opinion. I like him because #1)It aint me he's ever gonna be rippin' on and because he tells it like it is. The others seem to get a bit sympathetic after awhile. He just calls it like he sees it. If you dont like what he says........TOUGH!!

Yeah, I think he's the most honest. And dispite what others think, I admire that, however brutal it may be. Its definitely better over sugar-coated comments by Paula and Randy. In the long term its actually more healthy for them to hear it in the beginning so they can work on their faults, and if their career is meant to be its meant to be.

I don't like it when the judges put their support behind someone they really don't have faith in. Not only is it lying to them, but they and many others are psychologically conditioning them to think they are great when in reality they are not.

Better for them to hear the truth than to become delusional and suffer an even worse blow to their ego later. Many of the auditioners already are mentally conditioned and delusional. Alot of them walk out/stomp out crying and ranting about "everyone tells me I can sing! I know I'm good, I don't need American Idol!" Yeah, and because you believed that you had this rude and painful awakening.

In actuality, Simon is doing them a favor, whether they realise it or not. Simon is not an a$$hole, he's actually doing good by them and the business by trying to insure that only the best talent makes it through. This is a competition afterall. Whomever wins is awarded the ultimate compliment, and that is knowing that you had Simon's blessing and support.

And doesn't Simon produce or organize the show or something? If so, its his damn show, he can run it however the hell he wants to. 😛

What floors me almost as much as the hideous singing is the attitudes that go with it. I've never (well..almost never) seen so many egotistical, self-righteous morons together in the same place. Unbelievable. Yeah Simon's my favorite, he cracks me right up, mostly because he's saying the things that the rest of the world is thinking lol.

Yeah. Their attitudes are really something. What really almost makes me feel insulted is when they go back into the room or refuse to leave, and they stand there and argue with the judges and refuse to admit they are either not good enough or not good enough at this point and time, or are completely not suited for this kind of career or lifestyle.

They stand there, argue, plead, beg, and that really embarasses me as if I was one of the judges, and I'm just here sitting down watching it on tv yet I feel ashamed for even watching them sing at all. I can't imagine how it feels to be Randy, Paula, and especially Simon. I almost hold these really stubborn and difficult ones with contempt when theres really no reason to, I'll never know them.

I'm both embarassed because of them, and almost flustered at their sheer ignorance, arrogance, and oblivious nature.

And if you thought they were bad, their parents are even worse!

I remember one time in one of the last seasons (can't remember which one) there was this one guy who didn't make the grade, and before he left he's like "well at least I come from a country where we brush our teeth more than once a month!"

And then Simon's like "ouch, you really told me. Next."

I love how Simon handled that! He was totally emotionless, expressionless and didn't give a damn. And I just know that made that guy seeth inside, which I really really enjoyed....damn thats pretty sadistic of me. LOL 😀

Yeah, it's rather jaw droppingly amazing that some of these people really do believe they are not only talented, but even gifted. Then, when one of the judges makes a sarcastic remark, the contestant actually smiles and says "Thank you" as if it were a compliment. Just too funny. And then on the way out, they keep looking back to the judges relpies, "It's still a NO!"... "Yep, still a NO!"...

Favorite quotes so far:

Contestant: "God told me to come here"
Simon: "God just told me he doesn't want you to win this competition"
Contestant: "But GOD SENT ME!" (or something like that)
Simon: "God is still telling me he doesn't want you to win this competition"
Contentant: grovel, crawl, grovel
Simon: "If only your parents could see you now..."

My favorite contestants are the ones who are so ridiculously lacking in talent that the judges simply crack up at the absurdity of it. They're trying not to laugh, but just burst out right in the middle of the audition. While that may seem to be a lack of professionalism (and probably is), that reaction to some of these complete morons is priceless.

The next episode with guest judge Gene Simmons should be a riot. Now, Simmons is probably going to be the least talented singer present, 12000 contestants included, but he's an absolutely hilarious character. Should have quite the entertainment value for an hour.

I cant wait for the auditions that Gene Simmons sits in on TummyDragon. I can picture him being charmingly brutal. I think I'd DIE if Gene Simmons told me I suck BUT I'd be okay if he said "you know.....you really suck but you're hot". Ok, who needs a singing career when Gene Simmons says you're hot?? LOL. Anyway, you all should see my Mary Roach imitation. I did it for Daddy last night and I "think I did really well" "On a scale of 1-10 I think I was an 8".
