Well...
Here's a thread that Blackmoon never started!
If you had the opportunity to delete any tiresome, stupid, trendoid words or phrases from the language that you couldn't stand, which ones would you delete? You know, the words or phrases that act upon you like nails scratching against a blackboard.

I would start with the word 'Diva'. It's used far too much to describe just any and all prima donna women, when it's not being used to describe Elton John.

I'd also get rid of the term, "at the end of the day". During the summer, I heard some dopey sports marketing consultant use that phrase twenty-eight times in an interview on CNN. It only showed him to be a dork.

So, which ones would YOU get rid of?

For years I have hated the phrase "the bottom line." It should never be used by anybody but accountants. 😀

From the world of sports, I would ban the term "three-peat" or any variation thereof. Don't you know, there was a truly dumbass sportscaster who was talking about some team who had won a championship the previous year - and he described their next season's as going for a "two-peat"? Unreal.

cool beans dude!

i HATE pretty much all internet words that kids are using now a days. like LOL LMAO LMFAO HAHA HEH HEH etc... the list goes on and on. (i try not to use this words as much as possible if need be) 😛

"My Peeps"... I don't know how that one got started. I mean, it's only one syllable short of the word "people". Also, when I was younger, my family would use the word 'peep' as a substitute for the word 'fart'. "Did you just peep?" So hearing someone say "My peeps" translates, at least to me, as "My farts". 'At the end of the day', that's how I feel about that! LMAO, Dude!

"It's a No-Brainer"
"That's what I'M talking about"
"Back in the day"
"Sweet"
"Do the Math"

My stupid father (Who Iam estranged from, as most who know me on here are aware of) always uses the phrase: "In hindsight and retrospect" to justify or try to wash away any of his disgusting acts. He will do the most low things to me, and then 6 months or a year later, send me a card or letter saying:" I acknowledge my actions, and in hindsight and retrospect..." My attitude is just like:" If you realize this 6 months later, seemingly 100% of the time, then why the hell do you act like an idiot to begin with????" This has been a phrase he has used for almost all of my life, to justify either himself, or those who he wants justified, after they do digusting things, and it is so tiresome. Guaranteed, if I hear from him for the holidays, or my birthday, with a card, as I often do when we are estranged, he will write me a card saying something like:" Thinking of you and how I miss you, and in hindsight and retrospect...." UGH! Get a life!

Could we please abolish the term describing anyone attractive as a "hottie"? This word is so sickening, especially when used by a person in their 30s or 40s.

Another annoying phrase that I think some of us use on the net is the shorthand way of describing our parents. Instead of saying "parents" we say "rents". "Rents" almost makes it sound like people who we are renting, instead of two parents who are human beings. I know many of us are guilty of it, but it just seems very irritating. Anyone agree?

"He's 80 years young" or whatever number.

Also, this isn't a word i want to eliminate, but i hate when people misude the word "literaly." Probably because when it is being misused, it is being used in the exact opposite way it is supposed to be used.

stuff like "shizzle" "minizzle" , and any other "izzle" words you hear in rap.

actually all ebonics is annoying to me. 😛

Featherfingers hates it when someone speaks in the third person. Featherfingers thinks it is one of the most egocentric and self centered ways of speaking and Featherfingers wishes it would end NOW!

"What-Ev-er!" A moron's way of leaving an argument that they're losing.

you know

Sports players or anyone who always uses the phrase "you know" when talking about something. "That's when we - you know - set up our offense and - you know - went on to score the game winning touchdown." If I 'knew' what you presume I 'know' why are you telling me again??

and your race is???

If you are black and you say that, then it is disturbing. If not, is isn't meant for you in the first place. Not to start anything here, but this post is straddling the line a little bit🙁

Tickletoy, that is a very attractive lady in your signature. Who is she, pray tell?

Natural may have a point, too. I said in my post that I didn't care for those who speak in the third person. That's not true. I care for those people, I'm just a bit annoyed by that kind of talking... but if it's your thing, then go for it. Everyone here has some kind of quirk or eccentricity. I wouldn't want to see these posts begin making fun of people, that's all.

Wait, Natural! I think He-man is actually Bill Cosby's screen name. 😉
He-man, I've wanted to know this for years: Did you ever tickle Lisa Bonet in between takes on the show?
