Annoying words or phrases

"You're Fired!" How long did it take for THAT phrase to become overbearing?? 12 minutes??

And I get so annoyed by the fact everything is labeled as an "Epidemic" these days. Pick up a friggin thesaurus!

Mimi

A little dated, but how could Chachi be so irresistable to women when he used to say "Wah, wah, wah", on 'Happy Days'?

And Downtown Julie Brown's famous 'wubba wubba wubba'... no wonder she isn't famous anymore.

If I am watching a sports event or better yet an interview, I hate when the player of a losing team says "We didn't get the job done". I'm just like "No shit, asshole. You get paid millions and you don't "get the job done"". It'll take me more than 10 years to make what you make in a year and if I didn't "get the job done", my boss would day "You're fired"

Hey!! I love "cool beans"!!! Actually my kids turned me on to it and it makes absolutely NO SENSE whatsoever but it is fun to say especially when someone has never heard it before and they get that "what?" look on their faces. My unfavorite sayings are:

"For reals?"
"Dude"
"bro"
"dont you get it"

Dont ask me why. They just annoy the "living sh*t" outta me. Exactly what is a "living sh*t"??

I teach preschool, and when I'm out with all my kids some fool inevitably points and says "wow you've gotcher hands full!"

AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I know that seems pretty tame, but it's been 15 years folks, one day I'm going to harm someone over this I swear :ignite:

Wordz / Phrazes I'd Rather not Hear in This Lifetime:

6)Bling Bling
5)Hottie
4)Schizzle badizzle in my dwizzle...(What th' F*CK Is THAT?)
3)PHAT

& the #1 Phraze for which the User should be Slain:
"Hey Dog"...(when you're talkin to another person).

The definition of Rock Journalism: People who Can't Write, Interviewing People who Can't Talk for People who Can't Read.
- Frank Zappa

Cool Zappa quote, Lightninbug. I'm a big fan of his.

Frank Zappa and The Mothers Of Invention released an album in 1968 called, "We're Only In It For The Money", which parodied The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper" album and made fun of hippie culture.
It also has the very first use of the word 'sucks' that I can remember. In one song, someone exclaims, "Flower Power sucks!!!" Does anyone know when that word first came into use as a description for something that...well, sucks?

'Groovy' probably had adults cringing the way 'Dude' makes people cringe today.

1)like-this word should not be used more than once in a conversation

2) you know- you know?

3) dude!- since when do we live in Aussie land?

4) Bling Bling- please!🙄 say it with me, we call it Diamonds!!!!:sowrong:

4) hottie-especially to describe someone's parent

5) word- People are using this word for "True" or "Yes" How annoying

I have an English degree. I'll think of more.

Whenever someone uses 'Its all good' in a place where it doesn't even go there, like "My cousin Keith got locked up for 18 years, but its all good though player"

No, no its not all good there, not in that instance

"Ya feelin' me?"....Ummm...no but I hear what you're saying..does that count?

It seems to be a Yankee "thing", but...

I don't like it when someone I don't know calls me "pal".

I had a friend who used to say, "Yeah, me and this chick were having a CONVO the other day..." Having what? Convulsions? Oh, a CONVERSATION! What's so hard about adding a couple of more syllables to complete a word? Who decides what's 'cool' and what isn't in this wonderful world of words?

I know a lot of ladies get pissed off being referred to as 'chicks', too.

Well, here in Chicago, instead of saying 'man' or 'dude' they called people 'Joe', and I'm like who the hell is Joe? that's not my name. So when I ask that question to teens, they look at me like I'm 50 years old or sumthin:sowrong:

Back in the 90's whenever people agreed with things, they always said 'True that' Made me cringe:sowrong:

The way I usually heard it was: "True "dat "

I hate the fact that our society has gotten so lazy, we have to nickname our foods. Now macaroni and cheese is "mac n cheese" and peanut butter and jelly is "PB n J".
And who in the hell decided that watching fall foliage is now regarded as "leaf peeping"? Sounds almost illegal.

I used to belong to a particular religion where certain phrases were overly abused. I'd tell a person, "I had a pretty good day today," and they'd reply, "Praise God." "I bought a new pair of slacks that fit really good." "Praise God." "Since I started eating Raisin Bran, I've been feeling more regular." "Praise God." I've heard of taking the Lord's name in vain, but this is ridiculous.

Some people tried to make me believe that God told them when to go to the bathroom. I'd say, "You feel like going to the movies?" They'd reply, "No, I don't feel led to do that." "I'm hungry. Wanna eat?" "No, the Lord hasn't led me to do that yet." I'll bet 98% of the insane asylums are populated by people like that.

(No disrespect is intended to anyone of any religion, by the way)

"Bling Bling" for some reason that is really annoying

Annoying, and stupid. I had to ask Mrs Knox what 'bling' was, and it sounded imbecilic to me. Much like the rest of American pop culture.

That reminds me... I cannot stand J-Lo and her stupid song, "Jenny From The Block", or whatever. "Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got..." Rocks, meaning diamonds and jewelry? Instead of buying all of those 'rocks', try giving something back to the so-called block you supposedly came from! I got tired of her once the closing credits of her "Selena" movie ended. And "Bennifer"? I'm moving to England!

The most annoying one for me is........

.....the use of the word "rapper" and "musician" in the same sentance.
