Another Yahoo Problem

I was alerted by several members of my 2nd group that some clip files (.mpg and .mov) can only be played online, but none of them can be downloaded. With all the .rm files, you may choose between opening (=viewing) or downloading the file. As far as I can remember, I could load down all the files when I founded the group 4 weeks ago. It can't be the old bandwidth problem as the .rm files all load down.

When I contacted yahoo customer care, I received a very polite e-mail, but no solution was offered. Two days later, they sent me a customer care survey, but still no solution.

My question: does any of the other yahoo group owners or members encounter the same problem elsewhere? Does any of our computer cracks know how this can be helped?

I'd really like to help my groups' members to download all the files, regardless of format. Please help me.

Thanks! 😎

Hal, I just tried DLing all three kinds from your group and had no problem with any of them. Maybe it was just a temporary glitch?

Hal I hear ya there buddy. I got one of my e-mail accounts messed up by someone just this week. Sent an e-mail asking for help to yahoo, and I got the automated response crap. They sent me 3 other automated e-mails, but offered no help or solutions, followed by a survey. you can guess what my response to those questions on the survey were like 😉

Thanks, I think I found the problem: I can only dowload the mpg and mov files AFTER viewing them. Probably I messed up my preferences with Windows Media Player 9 which I got recently. I just can't right-click on the files, or i get a rather misleading error message: "The file can't be downloaded. The website might have been removed etc". I should write to Bill Gates instead... 😉

Yahoo was no help anyway, and they'll get the survey they deserve!
